I think only 2 games were won by the underdog this week. The big one of course being Jacksonville over the Steelers (nice fumble, Tommy)
New England had a strong comeback, but it's tough to give a team like Denver the lead in the stadium and hope to come back (but I think the Broncs were a little scared in teh 4th quarter) Tedi Bruschi is practicing with the team this week, hope it's not a case of coming back too soon ( I was hoping he'd retire altogether for the sake of his health)
Didn't see much more this weekend, any other comments?

Bengals impressed me with that comeback. This team really could do some damage come playoff time.
Steelers played a sloppy game. Deserved to lose. People need to start talking about JAX, this team is for real.
Never a bad day when the Pats lose :P Colts don't look like there gonna have to go to Foxboro this year in the playoffs.

I still can't figure out who the class of the NFC is. Washington loses to K.C, so that eliminates them. I mean any team that lets the Chiefs sack their QB must have a bad offensive line... Dallas beats the Giants in a close one at home after blasting Philly the week before. If not for 2 plays the Boys could be 5-1. Despite a 2-3 record the Lions look like the Class of the NFC North if you can believe it. The Bucs continue to play well, but are they that good, or has the schedule been kind to them early? The Falcons get a break against the Saints giving them a 4-2 record. The Seahawks look like they'll take the NFC West without any type of challenge. If I had to guess I would say the playoff teams in the NFC will be
*Seattle
*Dallas
*Tampa Bay
*Detroit
Atlanta
Philiadelphia
The AFC is just as confusing. The Colts will move to 6-0 tonight but have had a very soft schedule. Denver is 5-1 with wins over some tough teams. The Bengals too are 5-1 but have had an easier schedule than Denver in my opinion. The Pats at 3-3 should still be the class of the AFC East, but they have had a night mare schedule thus far. As for the other teams Jacksonville, San Diego, and Pittsburgh look like they'll fight for the two Wild Card spots. Buffalo might hang in there too. My Chiefs will likely end up a mediocre 8-8 as the offence lacks good wide outs and can't score at will any more. Of course if they remembered that they had Tony Gonzalez that might help too. My best guess for playoff teams would be in order of record.
*Indianapolis
*Cincinatti
*Denver
*New England
Jacksonville
San Diego

You're damn right the Broncos were scared, and they played like it. p*ssed me off! Tom Brady is so freaking good it's unbelievable. He was alone, for most of the game IMO. THe Pats defense (I know they are beat up) is really bad and they are going to have to play better to ensure a playoff spot. I think they will.
I still think Green Bay will win the NFC North. The east is a toss up. The Eagles HAVE to have the edge, but they've played like feces the last two weeks. I'm interested to see how they fare in Denver in two weeks. The NFC West is Seattle's to lose. If Ladanian Tomlinson is not the NFL MVP at this point of the season, Shaun Alexander is. Studs. The NFC South should be all Atlanta, but they look like they might have some problems on defense. That division could get interesting with Carolina and Tampa right in the mix.
In the AFC, Denver has surpassed my expectations and have a comfortable lead in the division. They have to continue to take care of business. The I'd like to see them play tighter with a big lead. They've loosened up too much in that situation. Still, they have no business being 5-1 against the quality of opponents they've played with 2 rookie CB's playing the last 3 games. They must be pretty good rookie corners I guess. It was nice to see Plummer finally hit some big throws. In the AFC East, it will be a dogfight between Buffalo and New Englad. The other 2 are done like dinner. In the AFC south, obviously Indy is running away with it. They might want to play a good team or two before the playoffs though! I know you can only play the schedule they give you but man have they had it easy. Jacksonville won't be able to squeak into the playoffs IMO, though the win this week was huge. But let's be honest, had Tommy Maddox not been the QB (and Roethelisberger COULD have played) they would've had ZERO chance of winning that game. It took a gift to win it despite the Jags playing an outstanding game on both sides of the ball. That's how good Pittsburgh is. Runaway winners of that division IMO. Cincy, a wildcard....and a good one.
My final standings predictions @ week 6...
NFC EAST
1. Philly
*2. Dallas
3. NY Giants
4. Washington
NFC NORTH
1. Green Bay
2. Chicago
3. Detroit
4. Minnesota
NFC SOUTH
1. Atlanta
*2. Carolina
3. Tampa Bay
4. New Orleans
NFC WEST
1. Seattle
2. St. Louis
3. Arizona
4. San Francisco
AFC EAST
1. New England
2. Buffalo
3. Miami
4. NY Jets
AFC NORTH
1. Pittsburgh
*2. Cincinnatti
3. Baltimore
4. Cleveland

1. Indianapolis
2. Jacksonville

Yeah, I dont see anyone else besides the pats winning the East, but they still have all 6 division games to go, but you know when Corey Dilons name cant appear on the in-active list because the list is too full, your team has problems. I know injuries are part of the game and I shouldnt whine about them because everybody has them, but when your #1 back(Dillon), #1 safety(harrison), #1 O lineman(Light), #1 d lineman(seymour) and of course your missin Tedy, goin 3-3 is nothin short of amazin..................

Interesting takes Dis.
I wish I could agree with you on the Packers...but I cant. Injured and suck on defense. But i can say...they arent much worse than any other team in the division. They play Cincinnati, Atlanta and Pittsburgh in 3 of their next 4 games, the other this weekend against the Vikes. Still have to play in Philly as well. They are toast.
And you have the Bolts missing the playoffs....i just cant see it. Though the next 2 weeks will likely decide that...as they have the Eagles (whom may be falling apart) and the Chiefs. Win both of those...they cruise in, split and they will have to battle...lose both and they are done.

Well I know nobody cares, but here's whats left of the Chiefs schedule. Right now they sit at 4-2 and heres my best guess for how things work out. Keep in mind that I'm assuming best case scenario in a lot of these games so if I pick them to win, it doesn't mean that I think your team sucks or anything like that.
10/23/05 at Miami Dolphins 12:00 PM CBS W, Dolphins passing game not good enough to torch the Chiefs defence.
10/30/05 at San Diego Chargers 3:05 PM CBS L, Tomlinsson runs for 350 yards
11/06/05 Oakland Raiders 12:00 PM CBS W, Faiders are the one team Vermeil can beat
11/13/05 at Buffalo Bills 12:00 PM CBS L, Buffalo defence destroys the Chiefs in Ralph Wilson stadium.
11/20/05 at Houston Texans 7:30 PM ESPN W, Texans might not win any games this year
11/27/05 New England Patriots 12:00 PM CBS L, The Pats will beat the Chiefs like a orphanage of red headed children Brady has a hay day.
12/04/05 Denver Broncos 3:15 PM CBS W, The Chiefs rebound from embarassment the previous week
12/11/05 at Dallas Cowboys 3:15 PM CBS+ L, Drew Bledsoe throws for 450 yards
12/17/05 at New York Giants 4:00 PM CBS+ W, the defense still sucks but the running game beats up on the Giants
12/24/05 San Diego Chargers 12:00 PM CBS W, Home to the Bolts the Chiefs win 45-42 despite LT.
01/01/06 Cincinnati Bengals 12:00 PM CBS L, Carson Palmer's turn to light up a bad pass defence.
So by that count the Chiefs go 9-7 which I don't think will be enough to beat Jacksonville. The Jags only have one game left against the Colts, and are up against the NFC West (already having played the only good team in that mess) and AFC North. They've already handled Pittsburgh, and Cinci, so they'll have a good in conference record. Cinci at 5-1 likely won't finish worse than 5-5 giving them a 10-6 record. Pittsburgh's schedule will ease up here so they'll be fine. I appreciate the optimism Dis, but I don't see my Chiefs in the playoffs. 4 straight weeks the offence has sputtered, and the defence has been lit up. They're luckey to have won 2 of those games.
