I always have to pause a second when I get asked that on a Wed/Thu. I think it's acceptable up to Tuesday. If it's a long weekend and Monday off, sure yes up to Wednesday.

You really have to 'read the room' though.
Like, if you're sitting at the pub thats a great topic of conversation. Less so when you're picking up your kid from daycare.
