Seven Things to Watch for Tonight- Mark Giordano is one assist from tying Tom Lysiak and becoming 9th all time in Flames assists.
- Sean Monahan is two points from tying Doug Gilmour and Bob MacMillan in points as a Calgary Flame. The garbage man is 293 career points as a Flame.
- Mark Giordano is one goal from tying Jyrki Lumme and Jerry Korab in goals as an NHL defencemen. Giordano is currently ranked 72nd of all time. To put that in perspective GIo has played 200 fewer games than both of those men.
- David Rittich is 4 saves from passing Doug Dadswell in saves as a Flames goalie. Tonight, he will also pass Dadswell and Ken Wregget in games played.
- Michael Frolik is one assists from a career 200. Even though he has 5 goals he is yet to get an assist this season.
- Elias Lindholm is one goal from passing a whole slew of old Flames including, Sven Baertschi, Brian McGrattan, Roman Cervenka, and Deryk Engelland. It will be fun to watch him charge up those all time stats as the season continues.
- James Neal is two points away from a career 500

Some things to watch from our side:
Jeff Skinner is red hot, on a 5 game point streak (5 goals, 5 assists). Jason Pominville (of all people) as points in 4 straight (4 goals, 4 assists). They've made up the top line with Eichel in the middle. Kyle Okposo is also on a hot streak with goal in three straight.
Buffalo is off to their best start in years. Hoping for a win tonight with good sportmanship and no dumb controversies.
And good luck to you guys, thanks for beating Toronto though.

Back at it again. Well yesterday's outcome was certainly unexpected I wonder which Flames team shows up in Buffalo? It's always a mystery this early in the season.

I like these early games. Something to watch as soon as I get home from work, and can go to bed at normal time because I'm an old man.
I will be pleased if the Flames can win 2 in a row and start a good streak. If the team can get 5/6 points in the last 3 games that's a great thing to build off of.
I haven't followed the Sabres at all this season. But looking forward to seeing Dahlin for the first time and if Rittich can continue his strong play. Best backup this team has had since Turek IMO.

Those stats by Monahan are pretty impressive when you bring Gilmour's name into the discussion. Different players but Calgary was privileged to have Gilmour and is privileged to have Monahan.

I find that these stats really put it into perspective how special some of the players on this team are. A lot of the big names in the top twenty are understandably from the mid 80s and typically stop around the mid 90s with the exception of Iginla and Conroy.
But now we see a lot of current Flames putting their stamp on this organisation. what is the most exciting about this is the likes of Backlund, Gio, Monahan, and Gaudreau will be Flames for a while. If nothing tragic happens these players are set to be all time greats. It is special to follow this in real time.

Lindholm (12GP) being a goal away from passing Baertschi's (66GP) goal total with the Flames is pretty crazy

I like these back-to-backs coming off a win. Feels like a chance to keep the good play rolling. Should be fun to get a good look at Dahlin at the NHL level.

No idea who will win this one. But Bennett will play better than yesterday and hit the post twice and crossbar once. Dube will score. Go Flames Go!

I wanna see this team play with some measure of consistency now. They have been schizophrenic to start the year. Either very good, or horribly awful. Of course there are always ebbs and flows to a season, good stretches and less good stretches, but the really good teams have a much more consistent level of performance. Hopefully that trend begins now.

Wow, Stone sitting for 3rd straight. Wills on Fan960 said Peters had a long chat with Stone this morning, guess it was more about him sitting again than playing tonight.
What's the deal with Czarnik, I would rather see him in the lineup over Ryan.

Anyone with a more analytical eye on the games able to inform us why Czarnik is the odd man out again (other than keeping the same lineup after a win philosophy)?
Seems to me he has played well, has the drive, and brings more to the table than a few players set to dress.

I take Hathaway out before Ryan. Ryan rarely makes mistakes out there. He's not noticeable because he's a very defenseman-like forward.

Bennett-Jankowski- Neal this line seems very close to breaking out. I thought they played excellent last night.
