Though not a high-scoring winger, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound winger brings a lot of size and physicality to the table. An enforcer-type player, Peluso is a big player that can win battles for the puck, deliver hard hits, intimidate his opponents and protect his teammates.

Yeah he's a guy who can stand in with Lucic, Reaves and Haley, not many of those left who can play a shift - he's not an amazing 4th liner but he's a bit more skilled than the previous generation of enforcers from what I've seen. Seems like he'd be a good fit to be in the press box and draw in against the Oilers and Vegas and for the rematch against Detroit when the #### is gonna hit the fan this year.
This could be making room on the NHL roster for Andersson.
After the dust settled with the trades and signings the Flames management saw that there was not enough high level toughness in the line-up.
It looked like the Flames were going to go to revert to the enforcer model as they don't have a player worth more than 12 minutes of ice time that can stand up to Kessler, Reaves, Lucic, Byfuglien, Perry , Olesiak, Watson, Wilson who can physically take over a game while taking a regular shift.
As the Flames do not have a scary guy they will likely dress either Prout or Pelluso against heavy teams. Prout keeps Andersson in the AHL and Pelluso keeps Mangiapane or Quine or Hathaway in the AHL.
Andersson is better than these guys.... easier to dress an 8 minute goon on the 4th line rather than going with 5 D-men.
PS. Ferland filled a check box that the new better players do not. As well Ferland did not seem to want to play that role anymore.

Depends what you think might happen between Hamonic and that piece of #### Mantha. Remember Zetterberg opened the gate to let Mantha trip Hammer and pin him to floor and rain down some blows.
I'd be looking to even things up.

LOL at Kessler.

That piece was pretty minor though I'm sure it will play a role.
The big deal is Mantha Hamonic. For those that dont remember Hamonic fell through the wings bench door they had left open during a fight and Mantha jumped on top of him on the ground and pummeled him. Earlier in the fight another wing... Cant remember who was interfering with hamonic from the bench.
Even in today's pansified nhl Hamonic if not another flame is going to go after Mantha... Was probably in the top 2 or 3 dirtiest things I've see in a flames game in the last decade. Hamonic got beat up badly in the cheapest way possible.
To me that game will say everything we need to know about whether or not the flames are a real team who have each other's backs because Hamonic is going to go after Mantha and Detroit's dumb goon will be chasing Tkachuk around... There will be a few tilts for sure. Some versions of the flames would go to war.... Others would let a guy or two fight and try to skate away from contact to save their own skins.
I realize enforcers are becoming much less useful in today's NHL, however I still cannot help myself from liking the fact that we may have a face puncher that can be inserted in the lineup when necessary.
Bonus if he actually has some decent game
I certainly wouldn't hesitate to play him vs Wings
