Default Applying for a new job, how do I know what software I've used?

Hi all,

I have been out of the corporate world for a while now, been more actively involved with some family business's and taken on a new approach to life after a health issue.

In any event I am looking to get back into the corporate gig once again, I have a background in finance and worked at big 5 bank for 6 years. I was using bank software systems while I worked there to do my work and I never had any issues using them.

What I am finding is that a lot of career opportunities want applicants who have software experience I am NOT familiar with at all. I MAY have used some of these platforms in my previous role when I left in 2014 as the industry has lots of similar foundations but propitiatory user interface but I just knew them by their internal names.

Some of the terms I am seeing are Server, R, SQL, VBA, and/or Python.
Performance systems such as: Sylvan Opturo, Bisam, Ortek, Eagle , SCD

Am I over thinking this from a qualification perspective in some ways? I've never had any issues with technology as I am in my early 30's. I always like to be as prepared as much as possible during an interview and don't want to waste anybody's time and I want some traction once I get this process started.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thx

R, VBA and Python are programming languages. SQL is a programming language for databases.

I don't have any help for you on the software programs, but I would just give the advice to not worry too much about specific software qualifications. To me there are important qualifications such as years of experience, certificates, designations, etc. and then employers tend to list "nice to haves" which likely includes software experience. Apply anyway and just be honest on your resume as to what sort of software experience you have. You'll be weeded out at that point if they really need you to have SQL and Python experience, but if those are just "nice to haves" and they like the rest of your experience, then they'll bring you in for the interview.
