List is actually surprisingly not bad. Putting Marner on it at 50 is pure fan service, and there are some guys in the lower half that shouldn't be there but for the most part it's not completely insane.

It is kind of odd coming off another Stanley Cup championship that Crosby would actually lose his spot to McDavid who was not really that great in the playoffs.

Shiny new toy syndrome. The NHL needs an updated new face.

Sidney Crosby did not win the Stanley Cup. The Pittsburgh Penguins did.

Most people agree that McDavid is now the best player in hockey. Some still think it's Crosby. But to actually be upset about them picking McDavid, when he's generally considered to be the best, is just hating on a rival for the sake of it.

^ I disagree. I don't think most people think McDavid is better than Crosby.

Yeah 29th is going to end up being a lowball prediction on Gaudreau this season.

I'm an Oiler fan and I think that Crosby is the league's best player. That may not last long, however. Maybe in a year McDavid will pass him, but I doubt it. For those who think that McDavid's playoff performance is significant to this, he's only a kid in his first NHL playoff.

The whole Mcdavid Crosby thing. Meh. It is what it is. I still think Crsoby is the best, but I get what they are going for.

But I need some unbiased chap to inform me on this whole Draisaitl thing. Yes he broke out last year, yes 77pts is nothing to sniff at, but this meteoric rise to the top of peoples lists has to be largely stat based doesn't it? I have hardly watched the guy play, so maybe I'm out to lunch, but it feels like he is bring grossly overrated. For reference, I feel the same way about Kucherov.

I dunno maybe I'm the one who is out to lunch.

I really don't think MOST people think that. If it's a toss up, then it goes to Sid, in the immortal words of Ric Flair....to be the man, you have to beat the man.

And CHL as well, and he's upset apparently that others are upset.
