Vlasic is good, maybe even great, but holy is that a lot of money and term.

Yikes! How old is Vlasic? That just seems a bit lengthy.

I personally like both of these deals. $7million about right for a top pairing guy.

It's not the 7 million so much as signing him for that until he's 38. Vlasic is fantastic and has always been underrated but I don't see him still being that good at 35+.

Hopefully the Draisatl camp is seeing the escalation in salaries across the board and holds the Oilers ransom.

That Vlasic deal is unattractive today, nevermind the term.

He might already be in decline. It's the Giordano conundrum. Only the contract is even more expensive and long.

Is Giordano in decline? I thought he was great last year.

$15 million cap hit for the next 7 years for Burns and Vlasic combined.

Burns is 32, Vlasic is 30.

It's funny how massive contracts can make very, very good players start to seem suddenly unattractive in a cap world.

Doesn't matter though, I'm sure if their play drops off and they become massive anchors, the Sharks will be able to wriggle out them somehow. Like compliance buy outs after the next lock out or something like that.
