Massive fire in Mexican resort

Brother is staying at the grand Bahia Príncipe tullum and there is a big fire that has broken out in the lobby. Will try to post a video in a bit. Hopefully everyone is safe.

Wow, been there 3 times and was looking to go back this spring. Hope your brother and everyone else is OK

I have stayed there a couple times as well and its always been a fear of mine that some kind of emergency takes place. the people are great...as long as everything goes to plan. Any deviation from that normal course of action though, and its a mess. Hopefully that doesn't cause bigger problems with a fire.

There is no way they'll be open in time. The fire was massive and the entire lobby is gone.

They might offer them the hotel next door but with the chaos going around there now I would just cancel.

That resort is basically 3 smaller resorts in one so they're probably okay. Each 'hotel' has it's own ameneties but you're able to use all 3. If one lobby burns down there's still the other two. Wouldn't hurt to ask for some money back though

Ya I've been there before but it would suck to be in the part that is destroyed when you could go to one of the others and be unaffected. If you are paying all that money no use not getting the full experience

Holy #### that's way bigger than I had pictured. That's not just the lobby, likely the main restaurant, shops and buffet too. Whole building pretty much

K scratch my earlier comment, I wouldn't go there for a few months. I was under the impression that there was a fire in the lobby but that's quite a bit more than that. Holy hell

Wow, that's a huge fire. I'll be near there in a week for a week, scary.

The fire is now out. Not sure of any injuries or deaths.

There were no fire alarms and the fire was really close to trapping people in the theatre where there was a Micheal Jackson show going on and obviously packed.
