Flames too weak
Having watched tonight's game, I have decided to vent.
This team is weak.
What I mean by weak, is, when Johnny gets hacked 8 times by the same player, there is no response.
This has to change, and now.
This team holds no opposing player accountable for bullying/ slashing/cheap hits or any other weak ass play accountable.
It needs to change asap.
Just my opinion.

Great job on thinking this thought is so special it couldn't go in the post game thread. Definitely needed it's own thread.
And yea, with the way these games are getting officiated the best thing we can do is take wild retaliatory penalties

Old school hockey watchers haven't quite realized the new NHL. Nobody fights to stick up for teammates anymore. This isn't just the Flames either. Besides the odd time across the league it's just something that has gone away and you'll have to accept it

They're fine. Hathaway, Ferland and Tkachuk are some nasty customers. I'd also rather that we not take more unnecessary penalties.
No need to get so emotional over a SO loss.

No way does Jarome let guys get away with hacking johnny relentlessly. This is all Gios fault .....

It seems like in the new NHL this is the way it is. Watch a Leafs game..every game it happens to Marner 3-4 times...he's streaking down the wing and gets a slash on the wrist and you see him shaking his hand.

The Flames are too weak, they do need to get better and they have been getting better. Even with all the injuries LA and Nashville have, they are only 1 and 2 points behind the Flames.

We're just taking the wrong kind of penalties. Gotta do stuff that leads to ejections and suspensions that outta fix things.

A teammate stepping in for Johnny isn't going to stop the slashes. If Gaudreau wants to stop the hacking and slashes he has to return the favor. Obviously he isn't going to fight anyone, but if he starts getting his stick up on players maybe he can create some space for himself.
Sure he might take a couple of penalties, but if starts getting a reputation other teams might give him some space.
That's how they did it back in the day.
