The Flames scouting group sure love the guy. Just the kind of player Calgary needs.

Loved the part about Burke not letting the kids wear a draft cap.

"We aren't a baseball team!"

LOL

Watching that second video you see what kind of a leader Tkachuk is. All the other draft picks seemed to defer to him in conversation. There is an ease about him. I'm very excited to see this kid on the Flames down the road.

What an exhausting day that would be. I bet those kids have the best sleep after that.

So lucky that he fell to the Flames at 6. Just 3 beauties with our 13, 14, 16 top 6 pick

Burke was awesome with the family. "I've lived here 3 years... I've lived in 5 different NHL cities and this is my favorite one by a mile".

He certainly seems confident and totally at ease.

I took a selfie with him as he was walking through the arena, right after he told the girl he liked her memorial cup shirt. I almost made the video, lol.

He seems like the complete opposite of Boring Sean Monahan. Super stoked he's with the Flames!

IIRC very highly. He's already got a college commit to a highly regarded program (Boston University Terriers).

Ya, I noticed a bunch of those little things too.
- `Managing`the media so he could look for his friend
- Telling someone to take another picture because the last one had his phone in it
- The back-and-forth with the other prospects
- Chatter about Elliott and concluding `Win Now`
- Talking about not wearing a hat.
- Talking about knowing he was going sixth after Dubois

All those little things point to a competitive leader who totally has his head in the game...even on the biggest day of his life! Not star-struck. Not a deer in the headlights. He`s ready to go win a job. Awesome.

I was expecting Mark Giordano to phone him on being drafted by the Flames, like what he did with Sam Bennett, but then I realized he was on stage with Monahan to congratulate him. Love the commitment the players are showing to our young players. True Class.

Yet constantly having a huge chew is OK...

Not to mention the classiness that is the tie-scarf.
