I guess they're planning on unveiling the new jersey's tonight when they make their 1st draft pick

And like I said in the Pens thread, why won't Calgary follow suit and go with the retros as well?
Although this is less special, Leafs standard operating procedure is to re-hash something from 50 years ago. At least it looks good this time

I hate both teams, but I really like the sense of continuous tradition the Leafs and Habs create by always refining their jerseys in subtle steps, and not bouncing around from design extreme to design extreme every decade (you know, like the Canucks). When it comes to jerseys, I think less is always more.

Breaking News: FLAMES GOING TONE DEAF FOR NEW JERSEYS!
Calgary, AB -- With today's announcement by the Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs that they will be returning to their 'retro' jersey scheme, the Calgary Flames have announced their own new emblem and colour scheme.
Flames President Ken King was on hand to unveil the new designs.
"We're calling it 'Tone Deaf'," King remarked as he drew back the table cloth that was covering the new designs.
"After extensive research and numerous design considerations, we've decided to change the Flaming C emblem to that of a smouldering Musical Note. We feel this new design best exemplifies our role as managers and owners of this historical franchise, and the misguided effort we've put into a variety of Jersey alterations in the last 5 years."
King added, "We're also changing the colours from red, yellow and black to brown and a different colour of red that closely resembles that of the Chicago Blackhawks."
