Default Anyone drive to Montana regularly?

Looking to have some bar stools, a desk, etc shipped to one of the Montana receivers at the border, but don't have another reason to drive down. If anyone's heading down in the next three months let me k ow and I'll buy your gas down there if you have a truck or suv and can bring some stuff up for me!

Find some random receiver in Montana which would require going out of my way a minimum of an hour, load up a bunch of stuff in my truck, strap it down, tarp it, deal with a bunch of border crap regarding a pick up truck full of stuff for a guy I don't know, drive it back to Calgary, find your house, help you unload it and presumably carry it in as it would be pretty weird to just drop it on your driveway. For $75 in gas. That's the worst deal I've ever heard of.

I mean, that's a bad deal if I was picking up a couch for you at Leon's 10 minutes from my house, but you're casually asking strangers to pick up a bunch of heavy large crap in another country. WTF.

I'd say $500 would be the minimum offer on a job like that. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'd do if the Montana receiver was hot. I've heard they can be super hot.

This company does this all the time. They have a warehouse you can ship to and do a weekly run. Not sure what it would cost for your items but the owner is a good guy. Try to call and ask him.

I don't know, I can see the conversation.

Customs guy - "Hey what's in these boxes?"

You - "They're suppossed to be bar stools and stuff that I picked up from someone I don't know in Montana for a guy that I met on the Internet"

Customs guy - "Hmm you mind pulling into the inspection area while I get my tools and a chain saw, oh by the way I need you to step into this room over here"

He leads you to a door and opens it and you step in

You - "Hey why's there an industrial sized jar of lube and a huge box of rubber gloves?"

door closes and you begin a adventure that you won't even want to tell to a trauma Councillor, But at least you'll have a crisp handful of $75 in your pocket.

If I were you, I'd spend my time thinking of another reason to head down to Montana.

It's not hard. Montana's a beautiful place. Glacier National Park should do it right there.

Just avoid Great Falls. That place is a hole. If that's your idea of Montana, then yeah, it makes sense why you would be avoiding the place.

Can't agree more. Absolutely love that stuff. I tried to make a clone of it this winter... Came close, but it's really hard to get all that malty goodness to shine through properly.

Moose Drool? WORST. ALE. EVER.

They should rename it Moose Piss, because if Moose piss had a taste, I would assume that is what it tastes like.

The company sent me the wrong colour chairs. Can you take them back to Montana and bring me back the correct ones? There's a six pack of American beer in it for you. Just buy it and submit the receipt for reimbursement.

Go look over on Beyond...

Guys do it all the time with car parts.

One guy schedules a trip every couple of months and the others work / order to meet their schedule.

You may have to wait a couple of extra weeks but you get your goods.

Nominal charge for duty, gas etc...but when pooled with a group the cost is reasonable.

Sliver is more suitable. Sliver's get under your skin. Sliver's catch you unaware. Sliver's can sometimes really piss you off. Sliver's ride around on Rascal scooters. Well, I know one that does, anyway.
