Drouin to return to Lightning AHL affiliate. UPD: Lightning recall Drouin
Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Hearing Jonathan Drouin is returning to Syracuse and the AHL. Wise.
Renaud Lavoie @renlavoietva
Jonathan Drouin will report to Syracuse for the rest of the season.
Michelle Gingras @michellegingras
NEWS: #TBLightning have lifted the suspension of forward Jonathan Drouin. Expected to practice with Crunch tomorrow.
Looks like he is getting off his high horse and deciding to play some hockey.

Finally the Drouin camp saw the light. I got nothing against the boy, but his decision to sit out was absolutely the worst thing he could have done. That agent needs to get fired.
I hold nothing against Yzerman. Yzerman did nothing wrong.

What a dumb dumb
Scouts from all over the league scouting me? I refuse to play!
What no one trades for me? Guess I need to play?
Entitled little spoiled brat. Don't like the kid based on his actions this year.

According to Phil Esposito is was Drouin and his parents, not Allan Walsh, that chose to for him to sit.

It's funny that his decision to sit out and wait for a trade probably made a trade almost impossible for yzerman.
The wrong move for yzerman would have been giving drouin away for nothing.
Time to push it on the off season and prove you deserve a shot next season!

Possibly, but I imagine it's more likely Jonathan and his parents making the decision against the agent's advice.

Not too late for him to turn it around. It takes a big person to admit that the were wrong.
I imagine he will still be dealt at some point though.

You don't mess with the Yzerman.

Nah. Clearly Drouin needs to fire himself. Though he might have some trouble hiring a replacement self.

If he wants to get traded, all he needs to do is utterly light it up for the balance of the season. Then he'll move at the draft. Not much time left though; the Crunch are well outside of playoff position.

Is that what Drouin is doing? It looks more to me like he is attempting to salvage a hockey career through any means necessary. I don't see how this can be interpreted as a sign of his integrity when he effectively removed any benefit of the doubt with his unbelievably idiotic decision to stop playing in the first place.

Exactly. The reason Drouin has not yet been traded has more to do with his underwhelming 3 points in 7 games played in the AHL since he was dispatched to Syracuse. He needs to do something pretty incredible for Yzerman to recoup much value at this point.

Will be interesting to see how well he plays from now until the end of the season. Even if he managed to train hard enough to be in game-shape, I would imagine it is going to take some time to get timing back. Wonder if he is able to ramp-up his play quickly enough to even be a consideration for a call-up in the NHL. I would guess he will be AHL-only for the remainder of his time this season - and possibly AHL-only for the remainder of his time in Tampa after what transpired.
