2016 Season Ticket Holder California Trip
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has gone on the Flames Season Ticket Holder California Trip? It's coming up in February, but at the cost of $1900 (tax included) CDN, leaves me wondering if I can do it for cheaper myself.
Has anyone gone on the trip and found it to be worthwhile? It does include round trip flights, hotels, as well as shuttles to/from the game. If the experience is awesome in itself going with others I would do that, but just curious if anyone has any recollection on the kind of tickets etc that were purchased (behind the nets, or central).
Any input or past experience on this trip would be awesome as I decide how to proceed.
Also, anyone planning on going?

It's a few hundred dollars more expensive than doing it yourself. Exchange rate is killer.

Depends on what quality of hotel and seats you are looking for.
Right now you can book a flight on Air Canada to LAX departing on the 20th and returning on the 24th for just over $350.
StubHub has tickets for the Anaheim game starting at $22. Lower bowl for as low as $63. The Kings game is less than $30 for their 300 level, and likewise just over $60 for 100 level. (all US$).
After that, pick the hotel price you want, and then rent a car, because you are going to suffer some insane traffic.

Thanks Resolute.
We went down to Anaheim for the playoffs last year, and it was awesome.
Flew in and/out of LAX, rented a car etc and stayed at the Ramada by Disneyland. Main reason it was affordable is the fact of the 99 dollar companion flight (on WestJet), that I dont really have any other use for this year), so would likely use it on that again. Have enough Starwood points to make a Sheraton a viable option as well.
Was just more looking for if anyone had experience going on the trip itself with all the other season ticket holders?

You can definitely do it a lot cheaper if you want, I guess it depends on quality of hotel and seats you want. In SJ, I know you can get lower bowl seats for $75 USD in SJ, and you can AirBNB. Transportation isn't a problem in SJ as the stadium intercepts 2 train lines (Caltrain, VTA).

My gf is a Flight Attendant so it's much cheaper to book myself flights, hotels etc. That other poster is right, the exchange rate is a bit of a kick in the pants. You could look into Airbnb for some cheap stays as well. Stayed at a really wicked place in Montreal in a happening neighbourhood for 70 bucks a night last year.

Yeah, my wife and I do that trip every other year, but on our own. I would say that with flights, hotels, tickets on Stubhub for both games, meals booze and car rental, I'd be hard pressed to say that we spend $1900 total for the both of us. That probably includes some shopping too. Now with the USD/CAD it's probably up there but still doable for that amount for two people...
To be fair, we don't stay in 4 star hotels, usually 3 to 3 1/2
