Problems of McDonald's
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/repor...ticle24236584/
Mickey D's problems aren't the bloated menu or service. It's their high prices. I often have to check my bill twice because I can't believe how expensive they have become nowadays. A premium combo will run you close to $10. The basic combo costs you $7-$8. A $7 fillet o-fish combo which won't hold you more than 30 minutes is expensive.
They are only slightly cheaper than the premium brands like Five Guys, Southside or Smash burger becasue Mickey D includes free pops but the premium brands' products taste much better.

How about the fact that their food is super bland. I'm not even talking about health or nutrition.
Everything is the same.
No spicy options, no risks at all really.
Their coffee is the tits though.

How about the fact that even though their meals are 1000 calories, you're still hungry an hour later? Maybe cut down on the empty carbs and add better protein options.

Carbs are cheap, protein costs money.
The only time I ever go to McDonalds is when I'm too lazy to cook and I have a $4.99 meal coupon. $5 is the most I'm willing to pay for a Big Mac meal.

I like the odd Oreo McFlurry from time to time in the summer. Nothing else on that menu is worth consuming, IMO.

Mcdonalds fries are still the best. I used to love Big Macs but I think I prefer every other fast food burger to McDonalds now.

I haven't gone to McDonalds in 15 years. Much rather go to Harveys if all things are equal.

All fast food seems expensive in Canada. I know whenever we are back in the country that is the biggest sticker shock for us.
But the reason is the food. It's terrible and there are numerous chains now that quite simply put out a much, much better product (in the states). Personally, in our area Freddy's steakburgers and custard is better (and I like the fries at Freddy's better as well!). 5 Guys is better, more expensive but better. Culver's steakburgers and Custard is better. Chipotle is not a burger place but it's better. Hadree's/Carl's Jr. is better.
McDs has sailed along on name alone and it worked for years, but there are just way too many places now that do things so much better and happen to be located right by a McDs. They really started to really go downhill when they started to pre-cook everything hours ahead of time and made your order form a set of drawers. When something is cooked fresh you don't actually want to eat it...I love it when they pour egg powder on a griddle and add water to make the scrambled eggs. (note the website says they are fresh eggs...I've seen multiple franchise restaurants prepare these fresh eggs and let's just say i beg to differ with the website).

I only eat at McDonalds when I'm drunk and can't make better decisions. Junior chicken sandwich and a mcdouble.

I wonder if they've almost hurt their brand with all the efforts to promote healthy menu options and compete with places like Starbucks. Other fast food places seem unapologetic that their food is a greasy, guilty pleasure.
However, McDonald's is still faster, cleaner, and more kid-friendly than the other options.

Talking to a co-worker one day, and they said when Tim Hortons got sold (I think to Wendys a few years back) they lost the 'contract for the coffee recipe', it McDonalds picked it up. I remember enjoying Tim's about 10 years ago, and cant stand it now. I never had McD's coffee back then, so I cant comment on that - but it is friggin awesome now.

Fresh coffee, hash browns and fries are only worth the trip to Mcdicks.

As does drunk MattyC. Although he goes with 2 of one or the other.
1 of each is intriguing though.
Also, f*** you drunk MattyC.

I am pretty sure the disclaimer is that the real eggs are only for the egg mcmuffin. Everything else is an egg water mixture.

Meh, you can do some pretty cheap heavy protein, low carb meals. I'm on a student budget most of the time and get away with it. Hell, you can get a double meat, chopped salad at Subway for like $7. I know salads are lame, but I'm just saying. The first fast food chain that can make decent, low-carb meals is gonna get a tonne of my money because I'm hardly ever home to make my own meals.

The McMuffins use a real, cracked egg. The other eggs are still real, but they're just liquid eggs (i.e. pre-scrambled). Yes, I used to work there.
