Default Trees and Neighbors (and arborist recommendation)

Question for the group and maybe a good local recommendation.

I moved into my new place a few months ago, and met my neighbor for the first time (owner of rental property).
He wanted me to look at getting the branches trimmed on my tree that overhang some of the power lines heading into his property. Not an urgent thing (if they didn't fall during the big snow storm last year, there should be a big right), but not an unreasonable request either.

I know he can trim anything that's hanging on his side of the property line, but is there any obligation for me to do it?
If I get an arborist to do it, (pretty tall tree and large-ish branches), it would be a reasonable request to split costs right?

Having said that, the neighbor on the other side said the previous owner had another branch cut where they split the cost, but in that case, the branch was actually hitting the other house in high wind conditions.

Having said that, anyone have a arborist recommendation?

If its a concern over power lines...Won't Enmax deal with it.

I managed to flag Enmax when they were in my alley and got them to do my neighbour's tree. He said they only do it if it is very close to the pole or alley wire, once it is more than maybe a metre into your property it isn't their responsibility.

If the tree is on your yard growing into his, I'd say that is 100% your responsibility and he has a right to trim it if he wants. If the tree were to take out the power lines, I'd suspect he has a case against you to pay for repairs. Just my opinion though. You could always call 311, see what they say.

One thing that you should consider is that having the tree pruned properly should save you from future problems. If the neighbour were to prune or cut branches at the property line this could lead to severe damage to the tree which could end up costing you more money (having to remove a dead or injured tree.)
