Would you flip the Glencross picks for immediate help?
per the title.
If you were GM would you flip the picks for some help?

Not the 2nd but maybe the 3rd if it was really a good fit.

Yep if there's another rental worth grabbing, we have the luxury of 5 picks in the first 3 rounds.

Depends on what's out there. I wouldn't square peg round hole it, but if a guy who fills a need (Connolly and OEL being the frequently discussed examples) draws more interest with picks than Glencross did, then for sure.
But I hope he keeps those picks close to his chest with the way the 2015 draft is looking. In spite of how much more fun it is to have new bodies.

No this season is gravy. Stay the course rebuild through the draft and if we happen to make playoffs this year that is just a bonus

No, stay the course. In January 2014, Burke told me and a group of others that the 2015 draft is the one that they are gearing up for.

I wouldn't. We may make the playoffs, but I doubt it'll be a deep run regardless.
This years all gravy no matter what. Let's pick wisely and keep building towards the future.

I do think there is another big move coming. I wouldn't be surprised if we trade Stajan and Raymond tomorrow.

I would if the player coming back was not a rental. I could live with moving a third for Stewart but not too interested in moving a 2nd for him.

Keep the picks unless you can upgrade the defense.

No. We're fine the way we are, which is year 2 of a rebuild. Draft pics are our future and the future is not now.

No, I don't think I would. Unless, of course, the immediate help was too good to pass up.
I think we've been quite lucky (and entertained) this season and shouldn't deviate from our rebuild. We've got a few more miles of highway between us and a place in a SCF.
Keep the faith and keep on building.

Nope. Especially with Giordano hurt for who knows how long. Stay the course.

The 3rd, maybe.
The 2nd you keep.

Unless it is a homerun, no. It's a sellers market, those picks aren't going to get much. Rather stock our system with d-men in the draft.

Maybe not the acquired picks themselves, but out of the larger pool to draw from now, yes.
Good for Treliving to get this return, and, to get it out the way today, so he has a full 24h+ to work on giving this lineup a boost for a playoff spot chase.
Player development happens more than a few ways, including the chase to the playoffs, and experiencing them. If they were 5 or7 points out today, and it's a longer shot, then no. But beginning of March and 1 point out, it's so close to getting to that level.

I'd trade the picks for immediate help that is young and has term. Definitely not for rentals.
