QOTD: In light of Glencross's comments yesterday do you dress him tonight?
Is sitting him a distraction? Dressing him a distraction? The Flames have a young room this can't be great for a pretty cohesive team with very little issues thus far this season.
What would you do if Hartley?

Seriously Bingo? Of course you dress him tonight. The season has gone well and the last thing this team needs in the middle of a playoff drive is controversy. His disconnect with the coach has been going on all season so I don't think his comments are a big deal in the dressing room as the media was the last to find out what the players probably have known for quite some time.

Possibly his last home game in a Flames uniform and you would seriously want to scratch him? Never mind that he's a big body and we're playing a bigger team, but Glencross deserves one more night in front of the hometown fans.
Some people can't wait to get rid of Glencross. Really sad IMO.

Eh, not a fan of this question. There's enough armchair coaching and overanalysing going on as is.
It's not like we can give a meaningful answer without actually knowing the real mental state of Glencross and how close the team is to making a trade.

This question might as well be "How much are you overreacting to Glencross' comments yesterday?"

Dress him and hope he has an impressive game against the Ducks increasing his trade value. Not a lot of downside. Let him play with a chip on his shoulder.

I may be in the minority here but I'd sit him. I think the team needs to move on without him and get used to playing without him, he hasn't been the best of late and I'd hate for him to get hurt and not be able to trade him. 3 good enough reasons for me. And I do want the team to win and I think they have just as good of a chance to win without him than they do with him in the lineup.

Dress him. The comments made yesterday are not surprising, so why make a big change based on that? I still think he brings a great presence on the defensive side of the puck that will be needed in any close game.

I say sit him for similar reasons to Poe969 but the main one for me is the injury worry. The guy has a history of injuries, don't risk losing the main selling piece for the sake of one game.
AND no I am not trying to run the guy out of town. From all of the commentary from yesterday we are moving on as a team any way so you get what you can and you protect that sale.

Kills me that guys take one option in a poll and paint the guy that puts the poll up with it. Honestly just pointing it out because its funny ... happens all the time.
Where did I advocate scratching him?!
I voted bigger distraction to sit him by the way.
Pinder on 960 was suggesting he might get scratched tonight so it seemed like a good question to ask.

Pull a Bourque-Cammalleri: dress him, then trade him to Anaheim during the intermission.

I took Glencross' comments to be borne out of his frustration that he wants to do more, for the Calgary Flames. I think he is seriously committed to the team and wants to stay, but that the team is moving on.
He wants to play, let him have a game in front of the home town fans, and watch him light it up tonight.

Its a good question for sure, who knows how the Flames Coach's perceived the comments.
He clearly expressed his frustration via the Media. Obviously the target of his frustration were the Coaches.
I voted, he would be in the line-up, but I definitely get what Pinder is saying.

You dress him until you trade him. I don't think he is being traded before eastern trip. I could see it going all the way down to March 2nd until glencross is traded.

I'm not painting anyone as I am aware you have been making a lot of polls as of late but I do feel that Pinder's overreaction doesn't necessarily have to be spread over the fan base. Yes Glencross probably could have handled the situation a little better but the whole thing is being blown out of proportion as it's going to be business as usual for the team. This whole thing is becoming a little Oileresque for me with fans thinking a player should be benched for some comments about his future with the organization.

I took it the other way, his agent is in contact with the Flames and he has expanded his NTC list and is looking for the Flames to help to resolve this issue by moving him sooner the better.
Has he formally asked for a trade my guess is no, but informally I bet his agent has expressed the player would like to move on to a different team and has expand his list to help the GM accommodate a trade.

he could score a dozen tonight against the ducks and i doubt that it would move the needle on his trade value
unless there is someone in town better than him - then play him

He may not be the perfect player to everyone but he has said he loves Calgary and I think he understands the business side of it too. I have been frustrated with him at times but overall I appreciate his contributions. If this is his last game I hope people treat him with class and show their appreciation. I am sure he hated getting injured it didn't help his cause. I would be very happy for him if he goes to a contender and wish him nothing but the best.

It would be classic Calgary luck if he got injured...
That said, unless the trade is imminent you should play him. What if the trade doesn't get completed until deadline day? Can't healthy scratch him every game until then.
