Right but let's be clear... this is far more "LOL Washington" than "Pat on the back Tampa" even though I have no objection to the contract overall.

Even in 3 years, I don't see Stralman dropping his play off at the age of 30 that this becomes an anchor. Great deal with term and price. Would have loved the Flames to have gotten this instead.

Wow. Probably the worst contract of the day. Stralman is only effective in certain situations, with the right partner. In other cases he is an unmitigated disaster.

Knew he was a Flame for oh so short amount of time, but thought I was losing my mind when I couldn't find his stats as a Flame. Problem solved:

What possible basis could you have for this?

How do you feel about Ryan McDonagh? Let's look at a list of star players: E. Staal, Malkin, Bergeron, Kessel, Crosby, Ovechkin, D. Sedin, Hall, Giroux, Pacioretty, Toews, J. Thornton, Kopitar, Toews, St. Louis, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Tavares, Parise, Backes, Seguin, Ladd, Getzlaf and Doan. Against these players, with McDonagh on the ice, the Rangers got 47% of the shot attempts. With Stralman? 53%.



I think Ryan McDonagh is pretty good. Stralman significantly outplayed him.
