What sunblock/sunscreen do you use?

I burn pretty damn easily and am curious what you use or recommendations. I hate having to keep applying it every 80 minutes, anybody found one available in Canada that lasts all day?

I used to burn like crazy too but then I dated a girl who worked in a tanning salon so I used the free tanning. Now I rarely burn and can even hang out in the dominican without using sunscreen and be fine. I hate using sunscreen too.

Ever since the spray on stuff came out it does not bother me to use sunscreen anymore.

I will use a sport spf 30-60 out of an aresol can and I can apply that stuff in under 10 seconds. I find it usually lasts much longer then 80 minutes if you aren't doing crazy fitness or watersports. At least 4 hours.

I also burn easily, but have had very few incidents since I switched to the spray.

I use 60. I don't burn but I just don't like the tanned look.

Aerosol is where it's at. Except for your face, never your face. The only downside I find with aerosol is that I sometimes miss patches and those patches burn and look even more hideous than an all-over burn.

For my face I use neostrata stuff from Shoppers. SPF 30 at minimum.

I just use whatever the wife buys. I never burn without it, so I only ever put it on if I am going to be outside for a long time or it is very hot, just because I would feel pretty stupid if I got skin cancer because I was too lazy to smear some stuff on me every once and a while.

One thing I did is buy a sun shirt. It was a great purchase, I have a short sleeve and a long sleeve. I don't use it all the time, but when I am going to be out in the sun for a long time it is great. Saves on sunscreen, and doesn't leave you feeling greasy.

When I use sunscreen, it is the spray on sports/waterproof stuff.

It covers most of upper body and has SPF from 35-80, usually around 50.

I'm fairly olive-skinned, so I tend to just go with an SPF 15 sun screen. I'm a little folicaly-challenged these days and do what I call the Mark Giordano up top the past couple years, so for up there I tend to use an SPF 30. I find using normal sun screen itches my scalp like crazy, so I bought this organic sunscreen from Shoppers called Green Beaver. Guaranteed not to streak and it lasts for hours, its good stuff.

Plus its active ingredient is zinc, you know you couldn't do without it. Or else...

I was researching the best reviewed sunscreens on Amazon.com a few days ago...



Blue Lizard and Eltamd seem like the two best brands. I've been trying to find Blue Lizard for a reasonable price in Canada, but so far $6.00/oz at Amazon.ca is the cheapest I've seen. If anyone's seen it locally here in Calgary, please let me know.

The spray lotion creates this strange mist that is like a cloud and whenever I see people using it they are like foggy and react poorly to the mist they can't see. It's almost like it's being ingested.

Definitely don't use it around the face, eyes, mouth and nose.

The aussies take sun protection really seriously. Great resource. Interesting thing is that even at SPF 50 you are still required to re-apply every 2 hours.

For commercially available sunscreens that don't have a bunch of junk in them, I like the LaRoche-Posay SPF 60 or Vichy SPF 50 (ish) - I can't recall the SPF right now. Good for adults and kids alike, absorbs nicely, not too greasy.
