Who should Johnny Hockey play with?
Who would he play with?
I've seen this scattered through the Gaudreau threads here and there with this possibility:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Colborne
I think that could be a nice line, any other good possibilities?
Note: I am well aware he will likely need plenty of time bulking up in the AHL, but hypothetically if he gained 15 pounds this summer and dominated training camp..

Im a huge Gaudreau fan, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. (I know you said assuming)
I think he likely starts in the AHL.
Edit - Hopefully he earns an NHL spot to start the year though!

I like...
Gaudreau Westgarth McGrattan
A fourth line with 10 goals each.

True if he plays Sunday I imagine Hartley would put at least one of Mcgrattan or Westgarth with him..

Gaudreau - Arnold - Poirier / I hope one day.
But assuming those two don't make it, hartley will probably want some vet presence for a couple of days/weeks...sooo
Gaudreau - Backlund/Monahan - Hudler/Colborne

I'd rather Sven play on that line since he had some chemistry with Sean and the bigger guys will help him. Maybe if Poirer makes the team, a line with them two as wingers with Backlund maybe?!?!

Thinking for Sunday either...
Gaudreau - Arnold - Van B
or
Gaudreau Monahan - Van B (line at camp)

Sunday I could see Hartley wanting McGrattan out there with him.

I agree with this for tomorrow.
The question was about NEXT year though...but who knows because this draft could add something special again.

There has to be a heavy guy on the wing on that line to dig pucks out and bust some noses. JG is shifty, but you have to imagine he would feel an inch or two taller with a Patrick Maroon type guy. Even a McGratton.

That's the starting lineup this Sunday.

If he is at home, he starts.
In Vancouver, maybe not.
I still say Monahan and Colborne, but could be Arnold and Grats.

Is Cammy still injured for Sunday? If so I think that leaves us pretty weak down the middle. I'd want to see Colborne moved back to centre (unless Hartley feels Byron could handle the 2nd line centre role.)
I'd want Gaudreau and Arnold to play on the same line in order to feel as comfortable and confident as possible in their NHL debuts.
I'd like to see how much room on the ice BVB can make for the wiz Hudler & the super rookie Monahan.
I'd like to see these lines:
Hudler Monahan BVB
Glencross Colborne Byron
Gaudreau Arnold McGrattan
Galiardi Bouma Westgarth
If those are the lines I predict a Brian McGrattan hat-trick, with all the goals provided by Johnny Hockey banking pucks into the net off his cranium.

Monahan and him looked perfect together. Easiest two pieces to stick together because their games compliment each other's one well.
I'd bank on Gaudreau-Monahan-Colborne next year, or if all goes well Gaudreau-Monahan-Poirier.
As for Sunday, keep McGrattan on the ice with his line at all times to keep the filthy, bitey canucks away. Besides, big Ern is great at driving possession and cycling it deep, Johnny and Bill can be the offense.

For a big man with hands of stone, it's actually true. While not being able to do much with it, he's usually got the puck in the opposition's zone when his line is out there.
Unless there's some dumb reference that I'm missing out on..
