Default Explosion in New York

Just heard this on the radio driving into work. An apartment building has collapsed due to an explosion in Harlem.

Okay when I read "major explosion in New York" it kind of leads me to believe something major happened.

So an apartment building where people live blows up isn't something major? My apologies for a misleading title. Its changed.

It is pretty big - multiple buildings collapsed.

Two pretty big buildings collapsed which probably have countless people inside. How much bigger do you want it?

CNN calls it a massive explosion, so I don't think the OP was out of line.

Authorities respond to massive explosion in East Harlem

I have no idea how credible this reporter is, but wonder if there was another gas leak than.

Roughly large to semi-big explosion. You'd be like "woaah!" But not like "omg bin laden"

1 dead, 15 injured. That seems like a surprisingly low number.

This thread is a perfect example of all that is wrong with CP.

As for the topic at hand, I'm amazed there is only one reported death so far.
I also heard that this was on Park Ave. in Harlem. Knowing nothing about NY, is this a higher end living type area or is this something where the displaced people are going to have a difficult time affording housing going forward?

It's in Harlem, likely not high end.

If the 1 dead figure is correct I'd be pretty amazed.

I don't "want" any type of explosion. The title as written was vague and when someone says "Major explosion in New York City", there are certain things that come to mind for a generation of people. How hard is it to make a headline or thread title with actual information in it, like "Apartment building in Harlem collapses as a result of an explosion".
