Because Katz has completely misread this situation. I think it was obvious from the letter how out of touch with the fanbase he is.

I also love that Lowe didn't offer to resign but to step back from the team. It's like offering to your unhappy wife to take a break from the marriage only to know that you'll be back.

it must be very difficult to be an Oilers fan right now. What shame you must feel on a day to day basis if you cheer for that "organization"

"Maybe this will placate the fanbase Darryl. I take a "break" from the team say for a year. Like how when I promoted myself to President from General Manager in order to take a step back from the team. You keep paying me. And then I'll return after a long holiday in Palm Springs ideally when the team is on the upswing to take all the credit."

Looks like typical Oiler defense to me. Love how Schultz skates into the corner by himself and completely takes himself out of the play.
