TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun confirms that the Oilers are among the eight teams on the veteran netminder's no-trade list which his camp submitted to the Sabres in the summer.

Honestly, I wish the oilers would trade Yakupov for Miller. Trading what will be a perennial 30 year goal scorer for a 33 year old goalie who's already on the decline, good idea oilers!
That would be super shortsighted.
What would you guys think about a trade with Ottowa?
Yakupov+RNH + Dubnyk for Lehner + Karlsson + Lazar?
That deal would buff their defense and goaltending but Karlsson and lazar aren't exactly slouches offensively either. It probably needs some balancing but what do you think about the idea?

Out to lunch!! Ottawa wouldnt trade Karlsson for those losers.
Glass houses folks. My guess is that Calgary is a pretty common "will not be traded to" location as well.
If you are a kid from the Northeastern or Midwest US, hell, if you are a kid from MTL or TO or Moscow or Prague who is good enough to command a no trade clause, far away western cities, and smaller markets in general, are terra incognita. Unknown and undesirable.
The reasons players like Miller chose not to play in EDM mostly apply to CGY as well.

I'd be interested to know, of all the players with this kind of control, how many have no interest in going to edm. Clearly I have my estimates...
I remember hearing in the '80s and '90s that many players had "no trade to Quebec" clauses in their contracts. Edmonton must be the new least-desired destination.
And having heard all of the negative things I have about Buffalo, I find it funny that Edmonton would be worse.
