“@DarrenDreger: Leafs have agreed to a 1 year deal with Mike Santorelli, $1.5 mil.”

Plan the parade.
Leafs have had a terrible UFA stretch. They also signed a Finnish player from the KHL today. I know they are filling holes but they did not improve any since last season for sure.

Given Santorelli's play while healthy for the Canucks last season. This signing stands to be a steal of a deal if he can stay healthy in T.O for a whole season. Dude was on a tear before he got injured.

I am curious as to why the Nucks didn't re-sign him

Kind of sad in a way how the Leafs are stuck taking everybody's leftovers.

I think this guy is underrated, kind of wish we signed him.

Weird. I thought the reason he didn't sign with the Canucks was that Santorelli wanted term. Sucks for Santorelli. He was playing well and on his way to earning a big contract before season ending shoulder surgery.

A good Swiss-army knife of a player with some speed.
Injuries, however, are a worry with him. I guess the Laffs will need someone to occupy the infirmary now that Bolland has moved on to Florida.

At $1.5 million it's hard to believe the Canucks tried overly hard to keep him despite him being a relegation for them last season.

Leafs also reported to have 3 players go to arbitration as per Dreger:
Reimer
Gardiner
Franson
Shanny and Nonis have their hands full.

WE got him for a million. That was a good deal. He's soft and useless.

Santorelli isn't very good either, probably a worse overall player than Raymond. So, if you paid $1 million for Raymond last year (which you admitted was a good deal despite your disparaging remarks against the player) and are then paying $1.5 million for his lesser replacement, wouldn't that be a bad deal?
Gotta keep your rhetoric straight BT.

Very arguable that Raymond is "Better" overall. He's very one-dimensional.

How could you separate his one-dimensionality from the rest of the Leafs forwards who are all for the most part one-dimensional? Hopefully the stink of the Leafs wears off him fast.
