DAMN IT! As an Arsenal fan I see this as a big loos, but the midfield of Juve is now pretty damn stellar. With Nedved, Viera and Emerson.

Anything that takes away from Arsenal is good in my books.
Juventus better get ready to see an increase in red cards and an increase in penalties out of nothing other than frustration.

As a Juve fan, I am kinda loving this.
We made a huge improvement in the midfield... and to me... Nedved, Vieira, Emerson and Camoranesi constitutes one of, if not, the best midfield in Europe.
That being said, another defensive midfield isn't exactly what we need, a good creative midfielder in the mold of Gerrard, Rosicky, etc. might have been a better choice.

I think we'll be ok without him. As long as Wenger replaces him, I don't mind seeing him go. There are better mids out there who can play more consistent and not fall so much. I'm more concerned about losing Cole or Campbell.
Thx to Viera for all his good years, but it's time for him to move on.

I don't think there are too many people who would consider Viera defensive minded. His role with arsenal was to carry the play upfield and add some grit into their attack. IMO, he and Gerrard play a very similar game, but Viera lacks consistency.

Arsenal now looking to go after Jenus or Hargraves. Jenus would be good. Would be cool for fans like me to have a Calgary connection in Hargraves. But neither of these moves would be enough to make up for Viera. I say get one of these 2 and keep looking for another.

Thats really good to hear... everything I've heard so far is that Vieira is much more Emerson (gritty defensive counterattack starter) than Nedved (offensive, creative playmaker) in terms of play. If he's got that playmaking touch, than this was an outstanding move. With Giannichedda, Tacchinardi, Blasi, and Mutu gunning for Vieira's spot, I'm not overly concerned with inconsistency. A 50% Vieira is vastly superior to what Olivera or Appiah were at 100%. Plus, I think having Vieira on the same team as Thuram and Trezeguet is gonna encourage all three of them, which is a plus.
