In an interview with the Guardian, Douglas was asked whether he regretted smoking and drinking in the past, two activities that were presumed to be contributing factors to his illness. Douglas responded with a straightforward "no," because "this particular cancer is caused by HPV [human papillomavirus], which actually comes about from cunnilingus."

But! it's apparently a cure as well

The "Behind the Candelabra" star, who didn't want "to get too specific," added that he did "worry if the stress caused by my son's incarceration didn't help trigger it. But yeah, it's a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer. And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it."

Since this also explains Fellatio can cause HPV as well all I have to say is...STFU Michael

You'd have a better chance of finding a needle in a haystack then you would finding out which of Michael Douglas' partners gave him HPV. His notch count is probably up there with Ron Jeremy.

The virus is transmissible regardless of whether the sexual contact is heterosexual or homosexual.

I can't believe they thought it was necessary to point this out.

So where does it say that 'the act' is also a good treatment?
