Default 2012 Tax Return Question

I am running through the tax return process right now and I have hit a road block. I tried to phone in to the government help line for confirmation, but they are closed today and I can't find the information diving through the CRA website. I have one quick question that people here may know.

For which time period am I able to claim medical expenses for the 2012 tax return? The Calender (Jan. 2012 to Dec. 2012) year or the tax year(March 2012 to Feb. 2013)?

Thank you

It can be for any 12 month period ending in the 2012 calendar year. See section 11(a) in the linked pdf
