Guessing this is an 81 win team based on the stiff competition within the division.

I think Bo gets dealt June 5th. And Vlad signs a contract for 10 years $475M with opt outs. Further predictions to come once we see more from spring training.

I say they make wildcard.

Bad year

Look at yankees and red Sox Tampa. Teams have missed and made it. Bo is 4-5 war player amd in contract year. Santander adds. Vlad is on contract year and still young man! Judge just entered league at his age. Been watching baseball since next 92 93 most of my life. No way bullpen will be that bad.

I said it multiple times our prospects might be ok and I stand by it

I would say they are contending for a wild card, just miss out.

Injuries are an issue, lack of offense is once again a challenge

Surely this is the year that Schneider gets dumped when things take a turn south for a stretch in May or June. Atkins and Shapiro don't go anywhere if they still have/not forced to move on from their onfield scapegoat still in place.

I think the noise around Bo and Vlad from the press will be too much for Atkins and Shapiro to put off. They seem to think the issues around those two will resolve themselves and have stuck their head in the sand about them. That's easier to ignore in the offseason, but once they are out in the field everyday (and producing) Atkins and Shapiro will have to address it legitimately. I don't think they personally want to keep either of them but are being forced by ownership to try and work it out with the homegrown talent, which is why it's dragging out in both cases, and price tags have gone up after another offseason.

Just have a feeling that SP somehow will be an issue this year. It was the only part of the game that kept the Jays in it the first 3 months of the year last year, until they got worn out, and was underrated how well they did those initial months with non existent run support.

My guess is offense will be better but SP will take a step back. They'll have to win games 5-4 next year not 3-2 like last year, so bullpen will be the wild card, tasked to help out the starters as my guess as to whether they squeak into a WC or not.

I think they'll be close to a wildcard team, and whether they make it or not depends on:

1) which version of the bullpen we get (2023 or 2024)

2) which version of Bowden Francis we get (last ~10 games or before that)

3) which version of Bo/Vlad we get (post hair/pre hair for Vlad, 2023 vs 2024 for Bo).

Contract years for Bo and Vlad mean theyll be motivated, so my base case is sneak into wild card and then lose Bo/Vlad...

Knowing the Blue Jays, we will have a terrible April and be playing catch up all season long and barely miss. Can’t wait

There are hundreds of professional sports teams, I cheer for three (Blue Jays, Raptors, Flames). How do all three trend to be middling for years at the same time? This is so ****ing depressing. It's like all three are reading the same playbook for rebuilding teams. Just push forward and make yourself slightly better each year and end up middling because said directionless strategy of just trying to make the playoffs.

I share the same franchise fandom.

Personally, feeling alot better about the direction of the Flames and Raptors franchises. Both have embraced a youth movement, made some shrewd trades and appear to be drafting/developing players well.

Jays on the other hand are trying to stay competitive through aging FA signings despite a terrible drafting and development program and are on the verge of losing their younger stars because they don't see future team success as Jays. A complete purge of the front office is needed and full rebuild with a smarter GM/revamped drafting/development program. Rogers lets get on with it already. Shatkins is not the answer.

You got a championship in the last 10 years, from the Raptors.

Yes I’m not saying he’s a stud, just that a part of the organization is hurt already. Hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come.

"MLB Pipeline had Macko as the Blue Jays' No. 9 overall prospect and No. 5 pitching prospect in 2024."

Of course the first guy to get hurt is one of our top pitching prospects.

No word of a Vladdy extension yet. Guess we'll see how hard of deadline this is tomorrow, Vladdy is expected to talk to the media tomorrow morning IIRC. If they let him walk...........woof.
