Default Video Card problem

Hey hoping someone on CP might be able to help me with a gaming problem:

Just put a new graphics card into my Desktop, GTX 660. Comp specs are:

Intel i7 920 @ 2.67
3 GB (RAM)
32 bit Win 8

Updated all the latest drivers, but for some reason I keep having Borderlands 2 crash with the message "Run out of video memory" The Card has 2GB of video memory which I thought would be no issue.

Anyone know why it might be crashing so much or if they have run into this before?

Do a video memory stress test to see if there's a problem with it.

I've never played Borderlands 2, but is there any reported problems with the game handling high texture settings? Have you tried it with lower texture settings?

Running it right now.

I went through the Borderlands and Nvidia forums to try and figure it out, but did not see anything specific. Off that my GTX 260 had no issues at all

Upgrade to a 64 bit OS. You have 2GB of video memory but 32 bit windows can't use it all.

I have been reading about this. Dumb mistake on my part. Vista was 32 bit, and I did the cheap digital upgrade to 8 for 40 bucks, but it auto'd to 32 bit windows 8

Freind of mine had this issue with nvidea aswell. Turned out he had it set to a resolution other than the native resolution of his monitor.
