Default U.S. shoppers complain about Canadians at Costco

http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/sh...363/story.html

Quote:
“You all been there. its [sic] hard to find a parking spot. Them Canadians can be rude. The lines are crazy. We aren’t on a vacation and have an RV to hang out in like those Canadians. We just want to go shopping, not go on an adventure. Costco used to have special opening hours for preferred customers. Why cant [sic] they do that for us loyal American customers?” the page’s description reads.
Aren't all Costco's like this??

I heard a couple of young Bellingham kids approached a nice Canadian couple demanding to know if they'd been to Costco yet.

I know what will solve this problem... guns.

Actually I went to the page and they don't seem to have a big problem with Canadians it is just that they have a huge number of them and only limited stores which makes it somewhat irritating to have an influx of new customers.

Although most of the Canadians are travelling there from Vancouver so they may just fear that they're going to burn down their gas station.

How can people drink that much milk? I can barely make it through a 1L jug before the expiry date. Sometimes I don't and have to pour some of it out.

I'm sure Costco isn't complaining. I do agree though, there should be a separate line for American customers who go to buy 4 or 5 things. They shouldn't wait in line behind Canadians who buy $600 worth of stuff.

That being said, I'm going to Costco in about 20 minutes. If I see any americans there, I'll corn 'em for shopping up here and clogging up my line.

I asked a Costco employee once why they don't have an Express line. She said that's their policy and they won't change it.

One thing I do like about Costco is that they usually have 90% of their checkout tills open, unlike some places (ie, Sobeys, Walmart)

I have to admit if I lived in a border town like that it wouldnt take me long to get pissed off at the such obvious tourists that came shopping there.

At this point in my life there are few things I dislike more than big trucks and RVs.

Sounds like an ordinary day at Costco. If you're in a hurry then dont go.

God, I hate that place.

I've been to the Costco in Okotoks and heard the same thing except it was locals complaining about the Calgarians in line.

I didn't care. It was still less of a zoo than Deerfoot Meadows.

It's hell on earth.

I'd gladly pay more to buy smaller quantities elsewhere.

It's Costco, you know what you are getting yourself into.

My plan of attack when I have to go:

-Be there for the opening
-Know your Costco, and where everything you need is
-Doors open, grab cart or big orange cart
-Pass all the old people and others walking to the return area
-Rock and Roll like the grocery shopping superstar you are
-Damn near jog from spot to spot
-Hit the tills before a line has even had a chance to form
-Booya!

You're telling me your suburbs have their own Costcos, while we in Saskatoon are forced to share one? This stupid country..

Costco is always interesting to me. All I ever hear from people is how hellacious it is to get in and out. On top of that you have to pay for a membership. Doesn't really sound worth it to me.
