If she's not on the lease then you have less control over the situation.. if she's being crazy wrecking up the place or causing issues then you have to deal with the excellent tenant (i.e. evict them, go after them financially, etc).
Plus it gives you a 2nd person to go after if rent goes unpaid.
If they've proven to be a good tenant then this is all probably less of an issue, but it's still worth doing a quick check on her and having the lease amended IMO.
