I am looking at picking up a 27" Flat Screen TV for my room.
Any suggestions as to what to buy?
I am not looking to break the bank and would like to keep it under 350ish dollars.

Here's the one I have in my apartment. One important thing to look for, at least for me, is the quick surf ability of the TV. I'm not talking about holding the channel change button down while the channels jump up, but rather, when you press it repeatedly while channel surfing, and the screen quickly jumps to the next channel without a noticeable pause, or blank screen. Makes channel surfing much more enjoyable.

For normal plug into the back of the TV from the wall cable yeah but with a cable box the channel surfing speed is dependent almost completely on the box. The HD boxes tend to be much slower than the standard digital ones.
As for TV. We have Sony WEGA and have nothing but great things to say about it.

We got a 27" flat screen at costco not long ago for $250. I've yet to see one cheaper.
Works great. My only complaint is it's a bit loud.
I'm not a TV guy though.

If only there were some way to make the TV less loud?
Hmmm...if you figure that one out let me know, cause i think I have the same problem.

I have this TV, it's pretty decent, no PIP unfortunately.
Often on sale for under $450 too.

You might have troubles finding a 27 inch flat screen for under 350. I bought one about a year ago and the cheapest I could find was for about 500, which I bought at Superstore. Visions and Soundsaround had the exact model, only there's were priced about 50 bucks higher.

Not trying to hijack your thread here TOTF but if I started my own someone would yell FATA!!! I'm in the market for one as well. I haven't had a TV of my own for years now and have totally been without one for over 9 months. I need something to watch these Stamps road games on and of course the Flames when the NHL starts back up, if it ever does that is. I think I'm setting my limit at around $2000 but am also waiting to find out if I have to buy a new car so some of it may hinge on that.
I was thinking about something like one of these maybe?

Good story fotze, thanks. I'm definitely going to shop around, I just used the Sears ones as an example of what I might be looking for. I'm in no hurry to make this purchase though as I was really hoping to buy a place first, but we'll see. Once I buy this puppy, I don't wanna have to move it much for fear of damage.

I agree with Fotze, use Soundsaround as a price guide to get better deals, but do not buy anything from them. They will say anything to geet a sale

I bought a 27 inch TV (not flat screen) for 30 bucks in the bargain finder and it works great! They threw in the VCR for free. Does that count?
