Mostly due to a recent rash of Defensemen injuries the Islanders were able to find a spare tire and a couple of decent prospects.
Aaron Johnson D UFA (28) - Suprised he was still on the UFA list given his good start with the NHL Jackets - He will take his rightful place as the 7th D man if all starters are healthy however has played 5 games for us so far with 3 PTS and a +1 rating.
Joel Chouinard D UFA (21) - #8 Top Prospect for the NHL Avalanche. He is projected to be an offensive dman and a powerplay specialist in the NHL. For what its worth he has a prospect grade of 7.0C according to Hockey's Future
Nick D'Agostino D (Undrafted in CPHL) (21) - Currently in his 3rd year at Cornell University ECAC. Nick is projected to be a 2 way dman. He is a Top 10 prospect according to the Hockey News for the NHL Penguins.
Hopefully at least one of these players turns out but for now they are spare parts
