Help finding a TV Series
So, the wife and I have never really had shows we watch together and really get into. She has her "girl" shows in grey's anatomy, vampire diaries (don't judge!), and i... well i watch sports, and sitcom reruns with her, as i've never really gotten into any shows, or given any enough of a chance.
Well that changed about 6 weeks ago, when we got our hands on hte dvd set of the first season of Dexter. We just finished watching the season finale of season 4. We got absolutely hooked to this series. Like i'm amazed at how captivating, suspenseful, and exciting this show is to watch.
But now that we're done with the available dvd seasons, i am worried we're about to go into withdrawl.
Can someone recommend a good hbo/showcase series? We're contemplating the sopranos (i've seen the first 2 seasons from when they first came out, and parts of the rest but wouldn't mind doing the full thing now), or californication, or mad men...
Any input would be appreciated on how you'd rank these three (or any others).
Thanks in advance.

Boardwalk Empire is an excellent HBO show. Steve Buscemi plays the Atlantic City treasurer in the 1920's during prohibition. Only 1 season so far though

Definitely go back to The Sopranos. Best TV series ever, IMO.
If you can watch it from the beginning, try Lost. I don't know if you have been watching House, but I recommend it.
Some shows I am getting into: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Heroes.

Yeah if you haven't seen the Sopranos you need to get that box set. Amazing show, don't know it will ever be topped. Breaking Bad is pretty damn good too. I liked season 1 of Boardwalk Empire as well. For a change of pace, you cant go wrong with Curb Your Enthusiasm...hilarious stuff.

The Wire, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Sopranos are all awesome.
The Wire is my favourite show of all time. I hardly ever watch shows more than once but I have watched that series twice in it's entirety.

Breaking Bad is my favorite show that isn't Dexter. Very well done series so far. I would say it's fairly unisex ... less nudity and bad language than Dexter to be honest.

If you're looking for HBO- 'Boardwalk Empire' is great, 'Big Love' is awesome too but I think women like it better than men. (My husband won't watch it with me). We watch 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and 'Entourage' together. We also watched Dexter and another awesome Showtime Series is 'Weeds'- I started from the beginning and watched all of them- hilarious.
The only shows I watch on Regular Prime Time is 'Parenthood' (Tuesday nights NBC) which my husband doesn't watch, and The Office- Also 'The League' is a great show on Thursday nights on FX (more of a guy show about 4 guys in a fantasy football league), but hilarious nonetheless. I watch that with hubby and my two boys and we laugh hysterically, very relative to real life.
