My understanding is that Quickbooks Mac is completely deficient for any small business.
That said, I also researched hosted Quickbooks, and until Intuit brings their own offering out of beta and into the Canadian market (US only last time I checked - this may have changed), I don't think any of the small time SaaS (software as a service) providers offering Quickbooks are good enough for me to recommend.
Quickbooks in the cloud is a great idea - but finding providers that are PCI compliant, have proper SLA's, data backup and retention policies, data import/export policies and standards, network and facility redundancy, etc, is a lot tougher.
You'd almost be better off running Quickbooks on say MS Small Business Server and delivering it via remote desktop in-house and via VPN. Backups still need to be attended to, but thats a lot easier when the physical box is on your own premises.
