- OJ trial verdict - delivering a pizza

- Princess Diana death - delivering a pizza

- 9/11 - getting ready for work, then contemplating stocking up on canned goods and heading for the mountains to live the life of a post apocalyptic road warrior.

- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver - My parents living room celebrating with my Dad.

- Gretzky trade - LOLing before the term LOL was invented.

- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004 - Watching the game after hours in the Northland Volkswagen customer lounge. Then picking up some cougar at The Met... then going to my family doctor 3 days later and having a doctor do something awful with a very long q-tip.

- Challenger explosion - Grade 6 math class

- 1st Iraq Gulf war - Bussing tables at the Hospitality Inn

We know there are many others...

-JFK assassination - In my dads sac

-man on the moon - "" "" ""

-Berlin wall - Wondering what the hell the fascination with David Hasselhoff in Germany was, and when the heck did he learn to sing?..... c'mon, they cancelled Knight Rider 2 years ago! After it jumped the shark, and KITT got Superpursuit and a convertible top.

- OJ trial verdict - junior high math class when the teacher announced the verdict

- Princess Diana death - camping with my parents

- 9/11 - walking out of a BioChem class at university to people huddled around TVs everywhere. Skipping the rest of the day.

- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver - Brothers basement. Fist-pumping so hard I hit the roof and cracked my knuckle open. Scared my wife that I got so excited, and then cried as the anthem played

- Gretzky trade- do not remember

- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004 - the day after my finals in second year Optometry in Waterloo. Nearly chucked my friends remote into the wall after Iginla tripped over the stick and the Nucks tied it up. Then the goal in OT shouting off the balcony in joy. Booked tickets to Game 1 in Detroit that night without having someone to go with.

- Challenger explosion - do not remember

- 1st Iraq Gulf war - first time I followed CNN for hours on end. Remember the tracer fire video and being in awe

A very interesting topic, especially given that I am a time traveler. I have seen a lot of things, but I'll try to go over the ones you've mentioned.

- OJ trial verdict - I wasn't actually in this timestream when this happened, so I'll have to skip it. I suspect I would have rolled my eyes.

- Princess Diana death - I was in a Boston Pizza when I heard about this. To me, this only happened about 3 months ago, so it's still rather tragic. One of her boys is getting married if I recall correctly.

- 9/11 - Interesting, as this was one that I initially heard about when I visited the year 2005, and then went back to 2001 later. So I knew it was coming, but was unable to prevent it. Paradoxes and what not; tricky. I can remember being shocked about it when I first heard about it, but seeing it in person was even more stunning. I was at some random girl's house when I flipped on the TV and saw it though.

- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver - I was at a pub in Vancouver with some friends. One of them was from the year 1914, so I had to keep trying to explain all the rules. But boy was it exciting. I did not know at the time that we were going to win gold, so it was amazing!

- Gretzky trade - Coincidentally, I actually found out about this when I was in 2010 watching the Olympics. I'm still stunned, but not as stunned as I was at the Crosby trade!

- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004 - I was at a pub in Calgary at the time. I whooped and jumped up and down. I try to avoid sports scores unless they're live as it ruins it for me.

- Challenger explosion - I was originally (in the very early stages) scheduled to be on this flight. Scary stuff. I don't think I created any paradoxes by finding out about this one ahead of time (in 2114, of all times!) as I was disallowed due to medical reasons. I did see it on the television though. At my home.

- 1st Iraq Gulf war - I actually can't remember where I heard of this one. It wasn't nearly as bad as the 3rd Iraq war though, was it?

-JFK assassination - Heard about it through an army contact as I was in West Berlin at the time. This is one that every time traveler knows about already though, so there was no real surprise there.

-man on the moon - I've been to the moon 6 times, but I have never been present in that time for the first trip to the moon. Supposedly very magic at the time, but I think you'd have to be a contemporary to get the full effect. The moon's a big tourist site though.

-Berlin wall - I was eating nachos in a sports bar in Phoenix. Good nachos.

Some other ones:

William of Orange conquers England - I served for a brief time in his army, so I helped conquer England. Neat, huh?

President Benson's execution - I actually won tickets to this in an audience lottery, but I had to miss it. Shame, because it's not every day you get to be present first-hand at such a huge event.

Martin Luther - interesting times, as I knew him quite well. I tried to convince him to go for an even 100 theses, but he wouldn't listen.

I'll check the future responses to this thread right away so I can reply. It's faster if I do that.

Oj Trail verdict- I was in grade 7 language arts class. Some guy rushed in our room and spread the news.

Princess Diana Death- I was at this 26 year old's house. She was nailing my buddy and we were all smoking weed watching T.V. Her husband was at work, lol, I think..

9/11- I woke up and my mom was saying how the United States were at war. i then went to work at Cash Converters, no one bought anything, we were all glued to the TV

Canada Hockey gold- I was at my sister's house watching wither a couple buddies. Her boyfriend is an american, who had his Kane jersey on.. It was a tense couple moments, especially when Parise scored to tie it up... I won 20 bucks by picking Crosby to score the winner..

Gretzky Trade, I was 7 so I really have no idea.

Flames Eliminating the Canucks in game 7- I was at the King's Head pub, right when Matt Cooke tied it up, some jackass Canuck fan dropped a full pitcher of beer.. He was yelling and talking ####, little did he know that I would have the last laugh.. When we scored, I openly hugged random people, it was awesome. (Side story), I almost died that night. My buddy and I went on Macleod Trail looking for a ride to the Red Mile. We hopped in the back of some guys F150, well I was pretty smashed at the time so I immediately hop up on the guys tailgate, he starts going and I fall backwards, with some kind of super human strength I gripped onto his tailgate and kept myself from falling onto Macleod Trail into oncoming traffic.. Once he figured out where I was, he stopped and I just hopped right back into the bed of the truck and thanked my lucky stars,.

Challenger Explosion- Don't remember.
Same thing with the rest...

- OJ trial verdict - Dont remember.

- Princess Diana death - Dont remember.

- 9/11 - Getting ready to go to school in grade 5, my moms friend called her and told her to turn on the TV. Im pretty sure it was the same day being in the school Library and seeing the teachers right by a TV. Im also pretty sure I wen home at lunch that day and printed out all the information I could find on it. (It was either that day or the next day.) It would probably be interesting to read that material now.

- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver - Watched the game with my dad. My mom who was watching at times, went downstairs for the overtime, came up and celebrated right after Canada won.

- Gretzky trade - Not born.

- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004 - Was watching the game in my parents room by myself, turned the channel because I was scared to watch, turned it back and saw the Canucks had tied it. I was very upset/angry. I was told to go to my room and go to bed, lol, or somthing like that. I turned on the radio in my room and head the game winning goal call, I ran into my parents room and celebrated.

- Challenger explosion - Not born.

- 1st Iraq Gulf war - Started before I was born, ended before I was one.

We know there are many others...

-JFK assassination - Not born.

-man on the moon - Not born.

-Berlin wall - Not born.

OJ trial verdict: Was still living at home, but working a night shift, so I was eating lunch in my parents' basement.

Princess Diana death: Was visiting my parents for the long weekend, again I was watching tv in my parents' basement.

9/11: Was waking up for work, had Forbes on the radio and they weren't being immature idiots, so I knew something serious was going on. Turned on the tv just after the second plane hit.

Canada hockey gold in Vancouver: Watching the game in my living room, probably posting on CP.

Gretzky trade: Sooooooooooo Happy. It was summer vacation and they were talking about it on the radio when I first heard. It was a very good day. I could watch him crying over and over again and never get sick of it.

Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004: Went to Monday Night Raw at the Saddledome and got home near the end of the 3rd just in time to see the tying goal. Wasn't happy until OT.

Challenger explosion: I was in Grade 7 and was at school for lunch. A few kids who had gone home for lunch were talking about it. I didn't see it on tv until that night on the news.

1st Iraq Gulf war: It was the day after the written portion of my English Diploma exam. I remember that one guy in my class was paranoid that we were all going to get drafted and sent to the war.

JFK assassination: Not yet born.

man on the moon: Not yet born for Apollo 11. Was a developing fetus the last time a man walked on the moon (Apollo 17).

Berlin wall: Construction: Not yet born. Destruction: Watching tv in my parents' basement, absolutely baffled by what I was seeing.

Princess Diana death
I was doing a road trip across Canada that summer, and after a few days of driving like a maniac, totally out of the loop, I stopped at a 7-11 in Drumheller and noticed the headlines on a newspaper. I remember it well.

9/11
My mom phoned me and told me to turn on the TV, just before my alarm was to go off. I went to class that morning, sat there feeling flat for a few minutes, and decided to go home and watch the news all day.

Really interesting thread idea. I like it because I remember when I was a kid my parents would talk about things like the JFK assassination and how they would never forget that moment. It was hard as a kid to fathom an event so memorable. Yet, here I am in my 30's with a good number of them. So here we go.

- OJ trial verdict - I was in Grade 12 at the time. So I was in some class at Didsbury High School. Couldn't tell you which one. I do know that I had gotten far past the point of caring about this thing. So I was glad it was over.

- Princess Diana death - Again don't remember where I was at the exact moment. I'm sure I was out drinking or something because I clearly remember coming home to the paper outside the door. I kind of glanced at the headline and then did the double take.

- 9/11 - This one is vivid to me. I was driving to work listening to the radio. Roger Rhodes was talking about the first plane hitting and at that time they still thought it was an accident. Then there was a brief silence and he said a second plane had hit the second tower. It was surreal. The shock and sadness conveyed in like 3 sentences over the radio was something I have and hope to never experience again.

- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver - My living room with my family and a couple of friends. Those Olympics were full of memorable moments and this was a heck of a way to cap them off.

- Gretzky trade - Don't really remember where I was. But I was happy as a pig in crap that he was leaving Edmonton.

- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004 - Buddy's living room. Like most of us I was blind with rage at the tying goal. I think we hammered back a beer or two during intermission and then Gelinas made all the rage go away. Yeah Baby!

- Challenger explosion - Can't recall.

- 1st Iraq Gulf war - First time I ever watched a news network regularly. It was fascinating to watch.

That's all I got. Hey hmmhmmcamo you never gave us your answers.

- OJ trial verdict
I was at a clients house in Regina attending a BBQ, suddenly everyone's eyes were locked on the T.V.

- Princess Diana death
I was at work on the phone with a client when he bought it up.

- 9/11
I woke up and turned on the news as always and saw the fire in the first building. I thought what a terrible accident, took a shower and came out just in time to see the second one hit. I went to work but nothing got done today.

- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver
Sitting at home with a couple of friends musing about how much Loungo sucked.

- Gretzky trade
I was doing homework at the kitchen table

- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004
Watching the game at home alone and thinking that in the future Loungo was really going to suck

- Challenger explosion
Studying for finals in the school library in grade 10, a bunch of people were watching the shuttle launch and I looked up just in time to see the explosion.

- 1st Iraq Gulf war

I was at work when it started, and it was obviously no surprise. We just were wondering how long it would take for Saddam to collapse. I had just left the army the year before and suddenly felt a little nostalgic.

We know there are many others...
-JFK assassination
Hadn't even become a sperm cell yet.

-man on the moon

I was probably about 2 and living in Atikokan Ontario. I'm sure my parents were enthralled, I'm sure I was trying to bash something with a stick

-Berlin wall
I was in a field exercise in Wainwright stuck in the mud. Our section leader called a halt and announced it, then he shook his head and said that the world and our mission had changed.

- OJ trial verdict: this was while I was in university in PEI, so I was probably studying or drunk. didn't register on my radar at all.

- Princess Diana's death: Charlottetown, waking up to go to work.

- 9/11: Halifax. Was working in a pub doing morning prep when our delivery guy came in and told us what was going on. We got to the TVs in time to see the first tower collapse.

- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver: My living room in Calgary. I bounced around the room screaming "IT'S IN! IT'S IN!" and hoped my excitement wasn't going to put Mrs. Puppet into early labour.

- Gretzky trade: Lethbridge, frantically trying to mow the lawn as fast as possible so I could catch the presser. I recall feeling quite elated.

- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT: Calgary, living room of my old apartment. I first screamed "WHY DO YOU TORMENT ME?!?!?!" to the hockey gods when Van tied it, then screamed for joy a la The Olympic gold description. Mrs. Puppet hadn't yet come on the scene.

- Challenger explosion: Lethbridge, coming home from school for lunch. Felt pretty numb the whole day afterwards.

- 1st Iraq Gulf war: Lethbridge, working in a kitchen and getting ready to close when we heard the planes were in the air.
