Altec Lansing VS4121BLK 2.1 + Subwoofer Computer Speakers - $50

This is a really great speaker system I have been using for around a year. I just recently got a surround sound home theatre system and hooked my computer up to that so I have no use for these anymore.

I have had no problems with these speakers and they produce excellent quality sound.

From the Altec Lansing website:

Quote:
Turn it on, and it roars. The VS4121BLK system gets a lot of its power from a long-throw subwoofer that pushes serious bass reproduction into the room. But the down-firing midrange drivers in each speaker are what really make the difference. “Downfiring” meaning they’re angled downward toward the table or whatever surface the system is on. And they use that surface for exceptional sound dispersion. It’s no wonder Altec Lansing is now issuing the VS4121BLK in a matte black, 70th Anniversary edition. Good looks. Incredible sound. Plug it into your PC or MP3 player, and you’ve got the whole package.
If you are interested, please PM me.

ah yes, the good old altecs. when i worked at futureshop we made 20 dollars commission on them. go buy a laptop or a computer from FS, or pretend to, and ask the sales person to recommend speakers. magically these always turn up

great speakers tho.

I could possibly be interested them, does the rear Input/Amplifier look like this?

Too be honest I'm asking because I have a set of mx 5021's that I would love to get going again. But need the Circ Board.

I've got a set of favorite Altec 2100's where I probably fried the circuit board too. I pulled out the volume remote from the sub while it was on. It turns on but I can't turn up the volume.

The controller input looks the same as that. What happened to yours?

Ouch, sounds like yours just may need a capacitor fixed but who knows.

The rear output jack for the sound that runs to the computer was getting really touchy and you would have to wiggle it around to get stereo sound out of it. (Stress put on the jack from the location that it used to be with an old desk) But it got really bad one night after a few drinks so I was fed up and was taking the board out of it so I could take it in and get it repaired. And the way Altec epoxy's the #### out of every thing looks next to impossible to be repaired. And as a result the speaker jacks were slightly damaged as well.

I never did take it in, I guess I still could I just thought if a set came along at the right price I would just swap the circ board. I'm going to do a little research and see if they could be swapped between your set and mine. I will let you know!

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunatley no, the back panel has the same input port as above but the two speaker ports are different. One is similar to the "controller" port above, the other is a simple port like the input port.
