Default Looking for a good bowl of beef sate pho

I'm craving a real good bowl of sate beef pho right now, and I thought I'd get some suggestions for where to go. I consider myself somewhat of a sate beef pho connoisseur, and have tried a lot around the city. But there's a chance I am missing something.

I've tried the following places (and maybe a few others that don't immediately spring to mind):

Chi Lan - 130th Ave.
Saigon Royal - Douglasdale
Shawnessy Vietnamese - Shawnessy
Bolsa - Macleod Tr.
Saigon Palace - Richmond Rd.
Nho Saigon - Marda Loop
Golden Bell - Macleod Tr S.
Co Do - 17th Ave SW.
Pho VK - 17th Ave SW.
Cochinchine - 17th Ave SW.
Pho Huong - 17th Ave SW.
Viet Sub Express - 37th St SW.
Vietnamese Village - 7th Ave SW.
Pho Viet - 5th Ave SW.
Viet West - 4th St NW somewhere.
Saigon Y2K - Both locations
Pho Hoai - Chinatown
Pho Pasteur Saigon - Chinatown
Vietnam Restaurant - 12th Ave SE.
Pho Dau Bo - 17th Ave SE.
Basil - 32nd Ave NE.
Noodle King - 32nd Ave NE.
Nha Trang - Panatella Blvd NW.
A Taste of Saigon - Silver Springs
Pho So 1 - Centre St N.
Petite Saigon - Airdrie
Pho East Lake - Airdrie
Jen's Vietnamese Noodle House - Airdrie
Bagolac - across Macleod Tr. from Chinook
Pagolac - Edmonton
Quynh - Sunridge area
Treasure of Saigon - Old Banff Coach Rd.
Essence of Saigon Garden - Northland
Pho Xuan - 36th St. NE

Bolded the ones I've really liked. Can anyone recommend any other places to me that are good?

You mentioned my favourite one, so alas no further suggestion! Bolsa!

There's another one in Southland crossing. near the safeway and chapters, but i don't think it was as good as bolsa.

There is a new Vietnamese sub place on 37 Street SW, between Bow Trail and 17 Ave SW. I think it's called Vietnamese Sub Express. It's not there on Google Streetview, but it's where the 7 Eleven is, on that street, across from the Rusty Cage bar.

The vermicelli is just average, but their soup and subs are above average.

On another note, it's amazing how much Calgary has changed since Google Streetview came and did their photos.

Subs there are the best viet subs I've had ever... (use to be Kim Ann's on 17th).... if you're in Edmonton, Pho Tau Bay in China town hands down has the best Beef Sate (and regular Pho in general).

Not sure about their Sate but Pho Thanh over on 64th ave NE is the best pho place in calgary.

#13 CRUNCHY BEEF!!! yummy.
http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/15/19129...-House-Calgary

and they are still reasonably priced. I can't believe some places charge $9/bowl? seriously?? that is totally not worth it.

Last time I had Kim Anh's on 17th, it was still really good. (Although this was about 6 months ago.) Has it changed since then?

Treasure of Saigon on Old Banff Coach Road is great. Not really easily accessible if you don't live up here, but if you get up this way, check it out.

I always go to Pho Thanh Vietnamese Noodle on 64th just before Deerfoot Mall. Through if your craving for Sate Beef Pho, you should try the Special #2 in orochon ramen of Downtown LA. Haha, I so want to try that when and if I ever head down to LA for vacation.

Alright, I took your advice and checked this place out since it's close to my house. Ended up going for the Sate Beef Sub & pop student combo for $5.

Oh... my... god. I am never going back for a $7.25 sub at Thi Thi ever again. This place is amazing.

The place in question is Viet Express or something to that degree, anyways, its run by the people that run Pho Huong over by the Shoppers/Tims on 17th

Bolsa for me, love the sate beef soup. They will make it as spicy or mild as you want it.

Pho Kim at 15th Ave and 1st St NW (just behind the Chinese mall at 16th and Centre). Try #17A (the beef brisket sate)...
