Rather than wait for a referendum, the Parti Québécois should run Quebec as if it is independent after it wins a provincial election, says former leader Jacques Parizeau, giving tacit support to a growing core of members who want to change the PQ's modus operandi of the past three decades.

"Many sovereigntists have concluded that the game isn't playable under the current conditions and that we need to find another way. .....

So it's a game now is it Mr. Parizeau???

Imagine the PQ's winning a minority government with like 34% of the popular vote and then pulling Quebec out of Canada.

Good idea Jacgues.

Canada should play along. Cut all trading ties, eliminate all federal government handouts to the province, watch Quebec's economy hit the toilet, get another party elected to the Quebec legislature, and go back to normal.

not even the game part, transplant...

"current conditions are not favourable" - huh? well maybe that's because despite the presence of soveriegntists, yes, but that perhaps most Quebecers may not actually truly want to separate? Or that we live in a democracy, and you have to consult with the people - that you just can't "do what you want on a drastic scale" (a la separation) just because you want to (kind of like bingo - I think it was bingo - put with the idea of them "separating" with only 34% of the popular vote...).
