You just randomly got a really nice SLR and decent smartphone without any prompting?

Anybody know what's up with this plane I received? I usually just take the bus!

All joking aside, Android is an open source operating system availibke on a range of handsets and other electronics. The different versions are all codenamed by various baked-goods. The Android Marketplace is an easy way to download applications to make your smartphone more useful.

The 500d is a Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera, which essentially means it has interchangeable lenses. It will provide awesome photo quality, and through using different lenses and settings, you can really create some nice photographs. There is a great book called Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson which will help you to understand how to get the most out of your SLR. Play around and have fun with your camera- after a little experimenting and research, you'll be able to take some awesome photos.

I hope that helps a bit.

Both from Hong Kong, Definitely real. Just want to know how to use them. Merry X-mas though.

I got myself a Sony A390 DSLR over the holidays. I know nothing about cameras so this seemed like a good entry into the dslr world. I'm going to pick up that book you mentioned when I'm back in Calgary so thanks.

The A390 seems like a good camera to start, anyone have any thoughts on it? Good tips etc

You're welcome! When I worked in a bookstore previously, that was easily the most in-demand book on DSLR photography. It does a really good job of helping you understand what a DSLR is capable of.
