For those of us who celebrate on the 24th, just wanted to wish everyone on CP a Merry Christmas and Yule (which we celebrate in Iceland.)
Here´s the 13 yule lads with the scary Gríla troll (don´t be bad kids) and the necessary black cat, in case you wanted to read more about the weird traditions here, check this out http://hubpages.com/hub/Christmas-Customs-in-Iceland
No pressure, make sure you get new clothes:
Quote:
From the earliest days of the Norse settlement in Iceland, Winter was the time of year when wool was spun and new clothes were made and it was traditional for everyone to have new clothes for Christmas. In fact, traditionally, any child who did not have at least one new item of clothing for Christmas risked being eaten by the dreaded Christmas cat. The Icelandic Christmas cat is no sweet kitteh-- no no-- a dangerous child noshing monster is the Icelandic Christmas cat. Its origins are murky, but again, predate Christianity. Some say it is the house cat of Gryla but everyone agrees that this is one mean pussycat.
Go spend time with loved ones and enjoy good food, maybe even get a few gifts
But most importantly be safe this holiday season, and spay and neuter your pets.

Got Xmas dinner at my dad's tonight and then Xmas dinner in Canmore at the in-laws tomorrow. Anyone else lucky enough to have two turkey dinners this weekend as well?

Divorced parents = two of everything. I used to get three if you count the GF's household. But alas, that is no longer an option.

had two Christmas meals last weekend with my wife's maternal and paternal grandparents. Will have one tonight with wife's parents, and one tomorrow at my home with friends. Finally, will have one Sunday night when we fly to Calgary to see my folks

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
