Anyone have experience framing hockey jerseys? If so where have you gone to frame them and how did they look after, and what was the cost? Ive heard some nightmarish strories from people sending them away to get done so I would like a place in Calgary.
You could try these guys http://www.michaels.com/
They do all sorts of custom framing. It can get pricey though.
I've not had great experiences with Michael's framing. They use .5 cm thick particle board to mount the jersey on (with thin velcro which in my case fell off the felt background) and then hold the board to the frame with thin metal folding clips. They frame them with the same shadow boxes they sell in the store which for the price they ask, are really cheap. I've bought 4 different sizes of the boxes for various things and have had clips break off of the frame the first time I open and close them.
There is a framing store in Northland Mall that I've heard good reviews about. Not sure what their pricing is though.
Consider buying a jersey cabinet instead -- they have them at places like jersey city but you might be able to find them at framing stores (the place in Market Mall comes to mind). Plus, if you change your mind later, you can always take the jersey out and replace it with a new one.

Not at all, as I've said, I would rather start with LA over any of the other WC playoff teams. Bunch of underachievers who look good on paper but don't even deserve to be in the playoffs.
i looked into framing and it was way more than i was prepared to pay (~$250+)......if you are like me and want to cheap out - micheals has large shadow boxes and if you get some styofoam and some pins you can craft something decent - but nothing near as nice as the picture above....
