"When I see a solar eclipse, like the one I went to last year in Hawaii, I think 'Oh no! Is the moon eating the sun?' I don't know. Because I'm a caveman -- that's the way I think."

Did anyone see the meteor shower last week? It was hyped up on the radio. I stood in the freezing cold in the middle of the night in my cul-de sac and saw jack squat! Don't you be a tease, lunar eclipse.

Didn't hear about it, but I saw a bunch on my drive home, south on highway 22. First one I caught out of the corner of my eye and thought something was flying right at my truck and hit the brakes. It was really quite good.

I saw a big meteor last week, but only the one. The tail on it was about as wide as my finger in the sky, and there were multiple smaller fragments trailing the big one. It was (visually) very low and moved quite quickly across the sky. I initially mistook it for a flare or firework fired in my neighborhood, except that it was larger and faster moving (and nearly horizontally moving, not up and down).
