The car chase from Bullitt still ranks as one of the best. The movie "Ronan" with Deniro also had a good one, although I didn't care for the rest of the movie.

In Judgement Day, when T1000 had that truck, and Arnold and John were on the bike.
Also in that movie at the end when Sarah, John, and Terminator were in that crappy pickup and T1000 was in anoher truck!
My all time favourite movie!

Car chase has to go to either Ronin or Blues Brothers.

My all time favorite car chase scene is in Matrix Reloaded with the motobikes and those half ghost characters.
Saving Private Ryan is up there too. I don't think I was breathing during the first 20-25 minutes of that movie.

Isn't that the truth,
As soon as I saw the Topic, I knew I would say Ronin, that car chase kept you hooked the whole time....

Speaking of Paris and action movies, the scene in Kiss of the Dragon where Jet Li takes on the whole black belt Kung Fu class by himself is pretty awesome.

Gotta agree with TOTF -- many many great actions scenes in T2. The truck chasing motorcycle scene, the fight in the mall, the T1000 crashing through the window to land on the helicopter damn that movie was great. I don't want to offend any girlie men or more heterosensitive members of CP, but my favorite was when Arnold strolled into that bar sans clothing and smacked around those bikers.
The car chase in "Ronin" was great as well. Speaking of crappy movies that De Niro was in, that was a hell of a shootout in "Heat".
The start of Saving Private Ryan was really unbelievable, but not really "good" like the other parts because it was so awful since it was kinda true and all.
The Phantom Menace was bad but a couple great fights with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon versus that Sith baddie.
Thinking back, that scene where Luke gets away from Jabba's henchmen and the hungry sand dune was great in Return of the Jedi.

Action scene - GOtta go with the lobby scene in the Matrix. I always use it to set my Surround Sound system if I move it around at all. The music, the sound, the fighting.
Chase scene - Return of the Jedi, Speeder Bikes... 'Nuff Said.

Gotta agree with the chase scene in Bullit and the opening 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan.
If this were 25 years ago you'd be saying Bullit and the Rebel Alliance attacking the Death Star in Star Wars.

My favourite action scene is the bank heist gone wrong towards the end of HEAT. DeNiro, Kilmer and Tom Sizemore are surrounded by the cops and they just go straight at them and punch their way through. Car chases.....hmmmm....none really come to mind......have to think about that one.

I was gonna say Ronin as soon as I read it too, but I also always liked the car chase in the Bourne Identity. When they're tearing up the streets of Paris in that little Opel (or whatever it was), going now the narrow streets and steps -- top marks for originality. I get tired of seeing the same old thing over and over again.

Most of the stuff in T2 is great as already mentioned, I sometimes forget how great that movie is.
The motorbike chase from The Great Escape is fantastic as well.
I love the chase scenes in Gone in 60 Seconds.
The Battle of Hoth in Empire Strikes Back.
James Bond cruising around Moscow in Goldeneye

This is the one I was going to post. And the best part about it? It was real. That is not a computer generated building that gets smashed to bits, thats the real deal. If I wasn't lazy, I'd go back and research how much that scene cost, because it was a bundle.

The fast and the Furious had a couple of good scences, not good movie, but not bad racing scenes.
Also, Gone in 60 Seconds...

Much of Blackhawk Down is one large action sequence and ranks highly on my list of favorites.
True Lies had a lot of great action sequences.
I really liked the ninja attack on Katumoto's camp in the Last Samurai. Had a 1980 Shô Kosugi Revenge of the Ninja feel to it.
The rest of the movie sucked, but I thought the attack scenes in Pearl Harbor have been some of the most impressive ever filmed. Particularly the one where you follow the bomb as it's dropped.

Bad Boys II had a mean car chase scene.
agree with the above that Black Hawk Down had some stiff action, as well as the Saving Private Ryan (both true events)
Battles from Lord of the Rings are pretty intense - turn up the stereo for those ones!!
