Caps- Jackets deal again..

Gm Hesla and GM Dave made a shakeup deal to hopefully kickstart a couple players..

To Washington:

Andrej Meszaros - D
Jason Garrison - D

To Columbus

Martin Havlat - F
Cash

This deal boils down to a couple things for the Capitals.

1) Havlat started out hot, but has only a handful of points in his last 11 games.
2) Washington's average age on D was almost as old as Cheese. We needed a solid young Dman to fill the void (Meszaros leads the NHL in +/-)

This does leave us with a need for a 2nd line winger.. so on block goes Brett Clark, Marek Zidlicky and Sheldon Souray.

We traded Meszaros for Havlat. Then we traded Mikkellson for C. White.

We add a top 6 forward without losing one and were able to insert another dman into our lineup with the loss of Meszaros. He is playing well in the NHL (but so is Havlat) but Meszaros just was not getting it done on the cphl blue jackets.

Hopefully Havlat can provide some damn scoring help and with his addition it gives is a nice top 9.
