Finally we've got some information from the local news about the Heat injuries that isn't generic "upper body, lower body, long term, will be back soon" BS.
Afterward, Heat head coach Jim Playfair said that full participation in practice was the final hurdle for Pelech and Bancks as they work their way back from upper-body injuries. They'll be re-evaluated Tuesday morning, and the expectation is they'll be cleared for Tuesday evening's home game against the Lake Erie Monsters.

Additionally, three other injured players – Ryley Grantham (ankle), Cam Cunning (shoulder) and Gaelan Patterson (knee) – were in yellow jerseys at practice. Last week, Playfair had expressed hope all three would be ready to play Tuesday. That timeline has been pushed back to Friday, when the Heat open a two-game set with the Chicago Wolves.

Defenceman Keith Seabrook watched Monday's practice from the stands – he's nursing what Playfair termed a "neck/head" injury, and didn't travel with the team last week. He's expected to be on the ice for Tuesday's practice, and there's a chance he could be available for the weekend games.
No info on Wahl yet, but I would imagine he's going to be out for a while if his cheek bone needs surgery.

At the very least he can't be any worse than staios.
From what I can see, Pelech is head and shoulders above the rest of the defensive core down here. He can shut down the best players on the other team no problem. Sure, he makes a few mistakes here and there, but as we all know players like Pelech are not with the Flames because of a log jam on defense.
However, things could get better by the time Brodie and/or Erixon are ready to join the Flames. With vets moving out like Sarich and Staios, and maybe even Babchuk, there may be room for them with the big club yet.
Bancks isn't out there tonight. It was a game time decision, but Playfair decided to keep him out. Wondering if he was just sore after coming back from injury or if he got reinjured.
