Default Rule Clarification

Some teams are breaking CPHL rules.

"RULE CLARIFICATION: Each player must be assigned a single position for use in the sim. You may send in a position request with proof they can play elsewhere but a player can only play one position at one time. For instance a player cannot play RW on the PK and D on the PP. "

I have not played a guy out of position yet and I think it is unfair that other teams are doing it. I am always looking at stats and notice some teams not following the rules.

Why are some teams playing a listed LW as C on the PK for example??????

OR

Do players have to stick with the position they are assigned on the roster page (which translates to the sim)?

I have always understood that you can't play a guy out of position but I notice some teams are doing it.

Thanks.
I've been guilty of that the last couple days because how they're listed on the roster page will suit my team once Kozlov returns in two weeks but am playing them in other positions that they do actually play. Just figured that it was a bit of a nuisance to switch 4 players positions up, just to switch them all back in no time.

They all play the same positions in the sim currently, it's not like I'm playing them in two different spots in the lineup.

Not a big deal to do it though.

I am not really talking about what you are doing (although it is still breaking the rules).

I am talking about a team like Chicago who is #1 in my division and has Zach Parise listed as a LW but is also playing him as his #1 C on the PK.

No injury problems there, just taking advantage of a top player in different positions.

The commish's are probably drove crazy with my position change requests because I send some everyday and have always tried to follow this rule. It just bugs me when the teams I am trying to catch are not playing fairly.

Teams should be following the rules. If they aren't - report them and we will address it.

Teams MUST submit position changes for ANY position request. This has been addressed in the past - and no one should be ignoring the rule.

Players can play ONE position in the sim and ONLY one. If they are a RW - they may only play that position.

Clear?

I wasn't even aware, last lines I submitted I had to auto submit as I was heading out of town, will change it for next game.

Do you use auto lines every game?? For the 3 random games I checked from day 1 of the season to the last game you played, Parise plays LW 5 on 5 but then plays as C on your special teams and 4 on 4 play.

Dallas Stars (3) vs Chicago Blackhawks (6)
Phoenix Coyotes (4) vs Chicago Blackhawks (3)
Detroit Red Wings (4) vs Chicago Blackhawks (5)

Parise also leads the league in scoring.

The fact is for some reason Marleau and Parise switch positions when I auto-line so Marleau(my center) is on the wing and Parise (my wing) is at center. But I guess you didn't bother looking at that while trying to bury me. It's my mistake, i should have looked but I honestly didn't even notice when I passed through the lines because I thought it was the opposite. Next time you can bring it up to me in a pm so I can fix it.

I think you meant Kris Versteeg leads the league in scoring but you know...everyone makes mistakes right?

NO I will not just send you a PM because it's not just you, others are doing it as well. I shouldn't have to send PM's to every GM who is breaking the rules, they should just be followed.

I am picking on you because I noticed you first, you are in my division and playing very well.

Parise leads the CPHL in goals...better?

I've noiced that anytime I've auto lined, the sim screws up the PK. Puts winger in a centre, and vice versa.

I know this is completely going against the current rules BUT...

Why can't teams play players out of position? NHL teams do it so it's more realistic PLUS it would save the commish's a ton of time...

I am sure this has been addressed before but I don't see why it can't be done.

(NHL) Iggy is a RW but takes faceoffs for the flames all the time is many different situations...

I was going to ask the same thing, if not 5-on-5, why not special teams? I'm sure I'm missing something here, and will gladly listen to whichever explanation is offered.

The sim isn't like NHL hockey where if you play a guy out of position it's risky. The sim will treat a quality forward like they are a quality dman.

Plus building a team complete with enough good players for each position is part of the game.
