Need help making a video!

I have a project due for school on Tuesday which is to create a 2-3 minute video. An example of a class-mates is:



That's all I want, simple and to the point.

What programs would I use to make it, and how?

I also want to incorporate music, I am thinking of using Uprising from Muse, again how do I do this, is it in the movie making software?

You could always try Windows Movie Maker, which is built into XP, or you could use something good.

If you want to do a slideshow, like the example you gave, try Animoto. I'd also recommend Adobe Premiere, which has a free 30 day trial.

I just found out I do have Movie Maker (I didn't think I did), so I am just using that.

I tried downloading the Adobe but it kept giving me errors.

movie maker is pretty good as long as you are not super picky, so for a school project it should be fine. There is Windows Live Essentials 2010 (or 2011?) as an optional update in Windows Update that includes an updated version.
