I guess there's a severe thunderstorm warning out there right now for Calgary. Up here in Edgemont it's raining like hell with a lot of hail - at one point could barely see across the street - watch out for it if you can!

I was not so lucky. I live in Langdon which is 10mins east of Calgary on Glenmore Trail.

There is many holes in our siding, (5yr old house), our garage door looks like someone has been shooting it with golf balls every day, my neighbors skylight and front window were both cracked.

I have never seen a storm this damaging before. Every home in our community has some damage by the sounds of things. (this is a community of over 500 homes now)

Sorry to hear about your house. Enviroment Canada said the storm was weakining bofore it got to Calgary so i'm kind of suprised that there was hail damage. Anyone else know if the storm persisted past Langdon?

Agreed, storm chasing is fun... just don't drive a vehicle that you are afraid to get damaged.

Here's some radar images of the storm.
Storm(s) approaching from NW
Storm(s) over Calgary
Storm E of Calgary

Check out the 3rd one. That's one big cell with a cloud top of 11.5km. Damn!

2 hours after going through Calgary

I used to live in Lethbridge, so very little. Maybe once every 2 weeks. Just wasn't enough storms the past few summers down there. Now I'm in Thunder Bay, so I get a storm every week, sometimes 3 a week.

Yep that third one looks like its right on top of Langdon.

What a storm. There was still mounds of hail on my lawn this morning.

Insurance adjuster is scheduled to come out on Saturday. Should be interesting to see what the final tally is.

I just wish my house was needing repairs so I could benefit from this a bit. Unfortunately with it only being 5yrs old I really didnt need to replace anything yet. Nothing like a $500 deductible kick in the teeth and the likely raised insurance premiums caused by a 15-20 minute storm.
